Sci-fi fans who may be concerned about the state of the genre on network TV (we’re looking at you, V and FlashForward) have at least one reason to rejoice: EW has learned exclusively that Fox has picked up Fringe for a third season. Though the show isn’t exactly blowing the roof off of Nielsen — it’s been averaging just 7.6 million viewers and is ranked No. 50 in the all-important adults 18-49 demographic this season — it managed to survive in a tough new time period on Thursdays. The show returns with new episodes — and the promise of more visits from Leonard Nimoy and to the parallel universe — on April 1.

Nice to know. I like this show very much. It reminds me of Eleventh Hour. I miss Eleventh Hour.

WLWT has struggled there for years - they're usually the third-place station in Cincy, behind WKRC and WCPO. The last time they were number one in news was when someone named Jerry Springer was co-anchoring their newscasts (before his talk show became notorious for what it is now.)

Great performance for Medium.

One more ep of Numb3rs.

Watched the Series Première of The Bridge on CTV. It was awesome. You guys down there in the States will love it when CBS airs it.

I would move B&S to either Tuesday or Wednesday at 10 p.m.

Not surprising but let's get it off Sundays at 10! ABC needs to do something different with that night.

I've never seen B&S, do you think it's an 8pm show? If yes, maybe it could go to Thursdays at 8?

Fringe is right now the best show on TV. It is fantastic. With the most compelling storylines. Can't praise Fringe enough. It has really taken off with the last episodes before the break. Can't wait for it to return 04-01-2010

it would have been a crime to not renew this gem for a 3rd season. Bring on season 4 Big Grin

Medium - ha, Medium fans, cool ep, kind of like the old days, with a fascinating twist in the end. Also, while the children are an important part of the show, the show has a very different tone when they are barely in it and there is really only one story line or two merged storylines.

I'm glad the idea for Medium airing on Sunday nite is gaining some support, not that we matter of course Wink, but I think this is the perfect show for this hour. The show still has some juice and the higher profile hour would bring back some fans who didn't follow it to friday. Yes, this burn off hour would have a bit of value added with this show, which slants younger than Cold Case.

Not to muddy the waters, but if CBS really wanted to find out what they had with GW and Medium they would flip the shows for a few weeks and see what happens.

Fringe renewal - a forgeone conclusion, but thanks for the info.

Eeker

CBS better be worried at these results. This was the 100th episode of Ghost Whisperer, and from my memory, a series low. What veteran series hits a series low with their 100th episode? That could be unprecedented. Seriously, a 1.6 demo? WDTYA? had the same thing. Heck, even a Kitchen Nightmares repeat was just .2 off.

Nonetheless, really good bump for Medium. Rising .3 and being the highest rated show of the night is a good accomplishment. It should be a shoo-in for renewal, honestly. While I think GW will bump back some, I don't think it's necessarily a shoo-in, and should be considered more in danger than Medium, since CBS doesn't fully own it.

Thanks, Travis! Unfortunately, it's off from last week's numbers, but whatcha doin' gonna do?

Also, another typically strong performance by iCarly. I can't think of any kids' show that has been as hot, ratings wise, as that one has over the last 18 months or so.

Be interesting to see what would happen if these two were facing off directly, in the same timeslot.

Given the prestige factor, I wouldn't rule Caprica out for a renewal, but no question it's a weak spot on SyFy's schedule.

I have to wonder if Starz is going to start telling the Spartacus writers to start planning a Post-71BC storyline. His body was never found, you know. I can see the Starz execs thanking the gods for that.

I think Caprica will get a renewal and even though it is a weak spot in SyFy's schedule, its still has more than enough critical acclaim to keep it afloat.

Plus, it rose 0.1 in the demo!! Wink
