If prime-time network programs were pre-empted in these markets, that could drag down somewhat the national numbers.

Baltimore networks were not.

Good for Smallville in viewers and adults 18-49, but very disappointing that it performed below season average in adults 18-34 and w 18-34 (you know the stuff the CW actually cares about).

How does this count anyway? As 1-2 hour episode with a 2.767 or 2 separate 1 hour episodes?

LOL at those CBS numbers. Increase in viewership yet decrease in demo throughout the night. I still think CBS is making a mistake by putting Miami Medical at 10pm. This is probably their most compatible night of the entire week, and as long as the demo stays above a 2.0 for all 3 shows, with audience increasing throughout the night, it should be left alone. Miami Medical may add new blood, but the flow will be ruined, and CBS will probably renew Numb3rs for 13 more episodes because of it.

I have it as a 2-hour episode and don't have ratings that separate by the hour.

Didn't they already cut back on the number of episodes? I'm actually enjoying Caprica right now, more so than SGU.

I was only mildly surprised by its numbers. I figured it would do well. For some reason, imo, it seems like the eps that seem strange for Medium tend to do pretty well. But this was a great episode. It had a nice balance of humor and creepiness. I'm surprised I didn't have nightmares about that giant beaver. Wink

The concept of the episode, and the linkage of the gimmick with the crime in the story, was fine. I think they got a bit carried away with the execution of it, with the guy's face appearing all over the place. The Ariel storyline was a nice display of young Sofia's acting talent.

As to TV Fanatic's question if this was the first time Medium built in viewers from GW, answer, no.

As to Julie's wondering why Medium's numbers swing around, it is because the nite is being determined by casual viewers who are not committed to Medium the same way the core was when the show was on NBC on Monday nite. This year, a strong Dateline or otherwise stronger NBC, the two hour L&O, and the Monk season finale have all eaten into Medium's ratings.

As to Miami Medical, the nite needs some new blood so it is worth the risk of this spring trial. It may well not work, but like it or not the three shows are being met with too much indifference at this point to not consider a trial for something new. The dynamic is different now that they have continuity at 8 and 9. The earlier efforts were to plug 9.

Oh, I think the CW cares about A18-49.

I am soooooo tired hearing that the CW only cares about W 18-34 demo. If that TRULY was the case, Smallville would never been given a green light for Season 9.

The hottest team in the NHL is lighting up the scoreboards -- and the ratings.

For the second time in a month, the Capitals set a ratings record on Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic. Friday's Thrashers/Capitals game drew a strong 4.4 rating on CSN Mid-Atlantic, the highest rating ever for a Capitals telecast on the network.
