The nominations have finally been announced... no, not for that "other television awards" show - it's for the first annual Lemon Awards, which celebrates the worst of this past television season! (and I think our awards will be much more entertaining too!)
MyNOTworkTV
MyNetworkTV may be watched by only 0.01% of the American viewing public but the new broadcast network definitely captured our attention and has caught the whiff of numerous Lemons... 24, in fact. 24 nominees represent the new network here, like Tatum O'Neal, Morgan Fairchild, and last (and certainly least) Bo Derek!
Derek, the "legendary actress" in such films as "Bolero," "Tarzan the Ape Man," and "Ghosts Can't Do It," brought her "talents" to the small screen in this Dynasty-wannabe comedy... I mean, drama, Fashion House. The show itself brought in the most nominations out of all MyNetworkTV programs with 14 (Desire was the MyNetworkTV runner-up with 7 nods)
One show that rivals these soaps in "recognition", is CBS' CSI: Miami with 8 nods, including potentially-perennial Worst Actor nominee, David Caruso, as well as the show's entire cast nominated in the Worst Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress categories. Even by CSI: Miami proxy gets you a nod: Sofia Milos, with a formerly-recurring role on the forensics drama, was "recognized" here for her role as an incestuous sister on MyNetworkTV's Desire.
American Idol (FOX) may be the #1 show on television these days but with 5 nods and the title of "Most Overrated Show of the 2006-07 Season" by this forum back in April, it only proves that the show may not be #1 in the hearts of a significant number of viewers.
Although it is our first annual Awards presentation, the history of bad acting on television will not be ignored with the "Lifetime Un-Achievement Award". The winner of this category will be inducted into the Lemon Awards Hall of Shame!
The majority of nominations were determined by a compilation of suggestions by this forum's members since May 25, 2007.
All PIFeedback.com forum members can vote in the following 19 categories.
The "winners" were announced on September 16, 2007 8:00pm ET

I voted for Maria-Conchita on the basis of sheer collagen use alone. Her lips look like those of Janice, the Muppet chick in Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem.
I feel bad for Emily Rutherford. She's a very funny comedienne, but she is miscast and has been given very little to do on Old Christine.

Emily is terrible on that show. I don't get why people would vote for Julia Louis. I understand if you don't like the show, but most people should at least be able to be objective enough to see that she is the most redeeming thing about it (along with Wanda Sykes of course.)

I'm not really laying blame, so much as explaining that there is no reason to vote when close to half the categories are filled with stuff I don't watch at all. If I wanted to vote on stuff I hadn't even seen, I might as well validate the Emmys.

IMO, she is not as good on this show as she was on Sienfeld or Watching Ellie. She seems to always have that same expression, like she is in pain. Not hard to act the with same emotions and expressions in almost every episode.
