I would think any thing flat or down, shows this network may be on life support, waiting to die.

What if network ratings continue the downward spiral of the past and lose another 10% of the audience this year? If that happens, 'flat' would actually be a 'success'.

No. Making money would be a success and I don't believe they did that this past year, despite having basically all returning shows. I am intrigued however, with their new crop of shows and believe every single one of them has a chance save for the 2 Sunday reality shows.

Any new venture will take time and money (lost) to eventually find success.

However... the CW will need to see something positive, ratings-wise. If the net is flat or declinning, it would not only be a blow to the bottom line, but in the mission of the network.

I wonder how long both CBS and Time-Warner will wait to find a "growing" network?

I wouldn't be suprised if, down the road a couple of years, if one of the two wanted out of the project.

It will skew way different than Dancing, somewhat different than House. I think Chuck moving out of the timeslot will help.

I think you're right and Chuck could end up being the next big hit now that its paired with Heroes.

Chuck will still have its hands full with Dancing and the CBS comedies. But it will have a chance now that it is away from the House/Dancing Tuesday combo. I'm not sure how much of a pre-tune factor there will be in front of Heroes, but it can only help.

I believe they ordered 22 episodes so I'd be surprised if it didn't return by January.

Well, unless they plan on doubling up in the Febraury sweep, with a 22 ep order, it would have to be back no later than January.

Who knows if One Tree hill will even get the 22 episodes that were 'ordered'. I really don't see any room in the CW schedule where One Tree Hill would work. When are they going to air it? Aren't they doing two cycles of BaTG? What about all the other shows the CW is supposed to air?

I've read that Season 5 of One Tree Hill will be starting on January 2, 2008!

I ultimately see it airing on Sunday, replacing the useless repeat of America's Next Top Model.
