The CW is looking to continue promoting the sophomore drama "Gossip Girl" with racy ads, continuing the effort started in the spring with their OMFG ads.
Interestingly, these ads trumpet the criticism placed against the series from various news media outlets and organizations as a selling point. The article mentions that the Parents Television Council is not amused and continues to protest the content of the series. Sounds like sour grapes to me. The PTC is probably upset that the CW is using their own words to promote the very program they revile.
Maybe they continue to hope it helps. The ad with OMFG and Serena in a pose when she was presumably doing it with Nate is still hanging at the corner of 49th and 7th Ave in Manhattan when I was there a few weeks ago. And that must cost a lot, so they hope it works I reckon.

More importantly, the Gossip Girl ad campaigns generate a ton of FREE publicity. They get all the benefits of an expensive ad campaign without most of the cost. You have to admit, it is actually a whole lot classier than The Hills or Gene Simmons releasing their star's 'porn' efforts right before the seasons start to generate publicity.
The slutty ads caught my attention. I'm always down for shows that they do the nasty on...... Oops caught posting while looking at Gossip Girl posters again.
