It is good to see Reaper building a little bit, but the show is definitely on the bubble. In this case, entertainment value has not been able to overcome a bad lead in and the network stigma.
Reaper will now be pulled from the air while One Tree Hill airs in the Tuesday 9pm slot.
CW scripted show status: Life is Wild will be cancelled. The growth of Gossip Girl leads it towards renewal for next year. One Tree Hill is an unknown for now, but in a month CW will know where that show stands. Smallville will get renewed unless the cast decides otherwise. Supernatural will get renewal. Aliens in America is definitely on the bubble. Eight Days a Week is an unknown so far, but CW won't keep AiA if EDaW works better. The Game is definitely headed for renewal. Girlfriends is largely dependent on whether the cast wants to do another year or if they would like to move on to other things. Everybody Hates Chris will likely get renewal.
A longer writer's strike will likely mean an end to the bubble shows (Reaper, Aliens in America, One Tree Hill, Eight Days a Week) as they will be replaced with Reality TV and gameshows.
I'd say get ride of the Crowned Encore on Sundays and put Reaper on after Life is Wild even if it's just reruns. Out of sight equals out of mind and it might come back with fewer viewers when it returns.

Reaper on Sunday at 9 pm is a good idea. In the old X-Files slot, this show might find its audience.
For The CW to be running each episode of Crowned three times a week (before it's even demonstrated any ratings power) is absurd.
Based on the previews I've seen, I really have my doubts that Crowned is going to be another Pussycat Dolls.
I can't understand why Farmer Wants a Wife or Puddy Catt Dolls aren't being used in some of these open slots. As for Reaper, I would like for it to go to Thursdays once the originals of Supernatural have aired for extra exposure behind Smallville. Supernatural repeats can go to Sundays in one of the three hours of doom. Gossip Girl repeats can join it, allowing One Tree Hill a real lead in. Then use the third hour for an encore of one of the reality shows. CW Now can air at 6:30 with comedy encores leading into it. As for Tuesdays, I would go with one of the other reality shows and lead that into Life is Wild encores, which also deserves a chance behind a real lead in.
I agree with this assessment. I see either Aliens in America or EDAW getting the nod with Girlfriends being the odd man out in the comedy department. One Tree Hill should also squeak a new season, unless things get really hairy and that could happen seeing as it will have a lead in of about 1 million, if that. For some strange reason, the network won't even give Reaper or Life is Wild a shot.

The picture seems to look different every week.
I'd be interested in seeing how much audience crossover there is between Reaper and BatG. I agree that Reaper is probably a bubble show, but I also agree that it's gotten a raw deal with that lead-in.
I do think that Reaper is certainly ahead of AiA and Life is Wild in the renewal line, so it has that going for it. It's probably still behind the "non-traditional hit" GG. AiA may get a reprieve depending on what happens with Girlfriends but is a clear weak link on Monday. Life is Wild is (I'm guessing) not financially viable if it's only getting a little over a million, considering it shoots in exotic African locales and stuff - although the no-name cast is probably pretty cheap. And I don't think there's any conceivable move that's going to make it suddenly strong enough to keep around.
I think Reaper has a chance. I think next to The Game and Life is Wild (then again how difficult is it to get more audience than repeats?) it's the only CW show to build in from it's lead in.
I think some drastic schedule shuffeling is needed.
I would be suprised if OTH comes back after this year. The cast has said numerous times that this is the last season. They don't want to do it again. I don't know how you can get a cast to return when they clearly don't want to. CW doesn't have that much pull or money.
If a full pilot season can be done, CW will dump Life Is Wild, Reaper, and Alien's in America. If not, one of Reaper/Alien's in America will get another 13 to be dumped in a terrible slot and then forgotten about until cancellation. Girlfriends is done after this season. If Eight Days a Week does well, I could see it becoming another African American demo geared comedy to replace Girlfriends. Even if it doesn't, it could still fit that void.
I think One Tree Hill is basically a fresh start this year, so who knows. I would like to see anything else become its lead in. What a terrible move by the CW. As for Reaper, this week's episode was once again another good one and considering it beat Gossip Girl with half the lead in again makes me really wonder why this hasn't gotten a full season order. It's not like Gossip Girl was facing anything new besides Private Practice this week. I agree Girlfriends is probably done and either AiA or 8DAW will also get axed for a new comedy. It will likely come down to either One Tree Hill or Reaper and knowing Ostroff, she'll say that, sparking another monster fan war that was similar to what happened the spring before the CW came to be.
It was confirmed that the CW was going to pick-up OTH for all 22 episodes. But obviously, due to the writers strike OTH will only be filming 12 out of the 22. The problem I have with that is the creator Mark Schwahn is leaving episode 5.12 on many cliffhangers. None of the storylines will really be resolved. If the CW doesn't end up giving OTH a season six or the writers strike doesn't end. Where does that leave One Tree Hill? I've also noticed the CW is giving OTH actual promotion. Hopefully this time jump will give OTH a fresh new start.

We saw last summer what no lead in does to OTH and that's what the Crowned repeats will be- 1 million lead in max imo.
