Bottom line on this one is that Rich sounds like it will fit right in with the CW's teeny bopper image but thanks to the writers, has a lot more substance to it than originally thought. Austin Golden Hour as many (including myself) expected at one time is nothing more than putting younger characters into Greys Anatomy and adding in a 24 element. Sounds like Cdub may have actually made a good decision. Again futon critic does not want people to copy the article directly but here's the link: http://www.thefutoncritic.com/rant.aspx?id=20080522
The sad thing is AGH was a good concept and had more potential than STFR, it was just executed poorly. You can't have a bunch of 20 year olds running a hospital.
The clips on YouTube were not bad, and I'm in the group that thinks Gossip Girl has more depth than you would imagine after reading a short description of the show. So this could be good.
An interesting note is that the lead is in her twenties and dealing with post-college life, so while it seems like a teen soap in tone and it'll have some teens, there's also going to be a (slightly) older dynamic at play here with the tutor and her friends/love interests. Perhaps an effort to hook the target audience, W18-34, instead of just teens? We'll see.
Not to mention this show has both the only good thing the best thing about Welcome to the Captain (Garcia) and the only good thing the best thing about Hidden Palms (Cassidy). I'd like to continue this train of thought by saying Lucy Hale was the only good thing about Bionic Woman, but she wasn't good either.
