i just read yesterday that 90210 pilot will not be released to the media for reviews? whats everyones take on this? I unfortunatly think its a really bad sign but pulling for it.
I concur that this is not a good sign. The CW have alienated the media and bloggerworld, who will now be only too ready to pounce for the throat if this series disappoints.
The new 90210 probably performed poorly or less than expected in focus groups with one of the two target audiences: W18-34, who remember the old BH90210 series, or F12-17, who are supposed to be the new target audience.
I will watch it for the return of Miss Shannen Doherty, though I am miffed that Miss Ostroff dissed Miss Tori Spelling so ungraciously. Her father, watching over things from the Great Beyond, is most certainly displeased.
I think it is hard to do an Aaron Spelling series without Mr. Spelling (see Seventh Heaven, the final season). He had such a gifted eye for casting, and unparalleled instincts when it came to compelling storytelling. And based on her producing output to date (So NoTORIous, Tori & Dean), Miss Spelling has shown some of the same panache for creating watchable television that would make her father proud.
on the other hand tho it could be a good thing because they are trying to hold onto the hype and make it a huge debut!. im really pulling for this series as i want it to survive and do well
