ive seen some doom & gloom mongers saying that if its an extended strike theCW wont survive it?

what are the realistic chances of this?

I don't know for sure, but it would make sense. The CW is having a hard enough time as it is.

I don't know if it will shut down the CW completely, but I would expect reality and alternative series shows to dominate the future lineups of the CW. Their scripted stuff is doing terrible in the ratings and if even one reality show hits, they will run with it and follow up.

Well, the CW does have One Tree Hill and 8 Days a Week left to air still. I think that with the strike, they'll be much more patient with let's face it nearly all their shows. So, I don't think they'll be willing to cancel anything until after the strike is over.

Drop Sundays

I don't think that they should drop Sundays. Maybe just fill it with encores (even if it's encores of repeats) I mean, if they get desperate, they can just encore Smackdown along with Top Model and the 3 primetime hours are filled. Maybe they could dig into the Warner Brothers and Paramount vaults and play Legally Blond, Heathers, or other teen movies.
