More on the Cdub Sunday nights next year. Also says Reaper is likely back as well as the Game and that Chris and the Game are likely leading off Fridays. My guess is that Styledom will air Fridays at or Top Model encores with Filthy Rich Girls going post-Top Model and Reaper pairing with OTH on Tuesdays. As expected, 90210 would go Mondays at 9 after Gossip Girl.

Well MRC can't program something worse than CW did when they decided to program Online Nation on Sundays. So things can only get better.

The whole point of sub-letting the night is that the company (MRC) pays a set fee for the airtime and they are the ones that have to sell all the commercial time. That way, tyhe CW has no overhead and no legwork to find advertisers. This is the same arrangement that went on with Smackdown and CW until this year when the Smackdown people wanted to receive a licensing fee and wanted CW to take over the task of trying to sell ad space on the wrestling broadcast. CW decided they didn't want to pay the license fee Smackdown was asking and that they didn't want to hire a separate sales force to try and sell the non-synergistic advertising space. So, the CW cut Smackdown loose.

I do wonder though if this might actually help the network out in the long run? I personally think they tried to do to much too fast. Because if they can get things under control next season, with just focusing on Monday-Friday, than it could be a good thing.

Peace!

So basically what you're saying is that instead of keeping Smackdown and going out and attempting to make money on their highest rated program, they instead just cut er loose?

Now do we all see why the CW will fail?

CW knows that Smackdown wasn't their highest rated program. CW knows exactly what kind of ratings can be expected from Smackdown. CW knows exactly how much money Smackdown was asking as a license fee. CW knows that they would not be able to get advertisers to pay enough for CW to break even (much less make any money) at the price Smackdown was demanding. CW was unwilling to lose money on every episode of Smackdown. Smackdown isn't a good loss-leader show for the network because it doesn't attract an audience that would be useful for their other shows. So, CW, being smart, got rid of Smackdown.
