Jennie Garth has abruptly departed from a CBS comedy pilot, raising speculation that she will return to the "Beverly Hills, 90210" fold in a spinoff being developed at the CW network.
My guess if she did that, it's so she'd be the 2nd biggest star on the network. So, it'd be Tyra, her, um, the Chris Rock voice over, guy from Smallville, girl from the Traveling Pants movie, and ummm...

Maybe she realized that the My Best Friend's Girl was a terrible idea and sure to get cancelled quickly if ever aired on CBS and got out before she was attached to a failed project.

Given the new movie releases, you might want to give a nod to Kristen Bell at this point.

Why? Veronica Mars isn't on the CW. Reba MacEntire qualifies as a star too and she's gone too. Some of the WWE wrestlers who've done movies might rank, but only The Rock and John Cena come to mind and I don't follow Smackdown, but I don't think they've been on in this year.

That would've failed because she's a terrible actress before the premise did it in. She was downright awful on What I Like About You.

She was great in the first 2 seasons but then they just made her character to strange. I would not say Jennie is an awful actress, she just needs to find the right role. Maybe by turning it down, she is looking for that role.
Jennie, would not be officially joining the 90210 Spin-Off cast, if anything she'll just be a recurring guest. Until then, there is nothing confirming this so turning down "My Best Friend's Girl" could just mean she either is looking for the right project or wants to be a mom. She did after all just last yr or the yr before have another one.

Are you unaware that she does the voiceover for Gossip Girl?

I doubt she'll take the role.
If they can get Duff great. They need somebody with a fanbase to bring in viewers. If not, then I think the CW needs to aim lower in the star spectrum. Maybe Amber Tamblyn from Joan of Arcadia & The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movies
or maybe the YouTube LonelyGirl15 actress Jessica Lee Rose
Just when the idea couldn't get any worse, CW has this brilliant idea.

Amber Tamblyn is way too old to play a high schooler. She is almost 25 and wouldn't be believable as a high school student. They are aiming for 18 to 21 year olds.

Why would Hillary Duff be a bad idea? The CW needs to add actors with name recognition and she has that. She might have so much of it, in fact, that she won't be interested in 'wasting time' with TV rather than a movie career. IF they could get her to work on a CW show, it would be a fantastic move for the network.
