Does anybody remember this show? It was a big success for UPN and I think it could've worked out quite well on the CW.

I don't get why it was never brought back.

Overall, it was Bee Ess. And the murders of the little Amish girls in their school aroused quite a bit of publicity & sympathy for them & I believe the makers of the show were afraid the show might be seen as an insult to them.

The murders of the Amish girls happened two years after the show ended. I don't think that had anything to so with it.

I always wondered the same thing. It pulled, like, 5 million or so viewers. Could they not find enough other Amish people who were interested?

I was a huge fan of Amish in the City but thought the ending was a cop-out. We never did find out what happened to the Amish cast members.

I'd forgotten about that Marc. Every one of them said "I might go back, I might not." That was pretty lame.

On Wikipedia's page, it says they all did not go back to the Amish civilization and I also read that on an archived website.

That Mose was one hep cat. For an Amish dude. I miss that show.

Dawn of the Dead Network said it was a one time thing that "only works once," but I failed to see her logic. (Or what passes for logic, in her case.) If she can do another Pussycat Dolls search, she can do another this.

I agree.

I think the fact that ratings fell the entire time it was on the air was the reason it didn't return. It started out very well in the 5 million viewer range but by the finale it was less than 3 million.

AITC finished its season with about 2.90 million viewers and a 1.3/3 18-49 demo. But, it was up against stiffer competition and lead out of the ill-fitting Eve. I think its ratings were justifiable to renew it, though, and it might not have done well in the Fall, but I think it could've done well for the Summer months.

Well, they COULD do a show with a Jehovah Witness door-to-doorer wearing a hidden camera...

When did that ever stop Ostroff before, if she personally liked the show?

Apparently, she didn't personally like the show.

And I understand she has a daughter auditioning for the Pussycat show. (I dunno if she tried out for the last one or not.)
