I don't like this idea at all. Why would you use the premiere spot on CW's schedule (the leadout from ANTM) on a show that skews old and is already a very weak performer?

So the CW shouldn't use its "premiere" time slot to help a struggling series when reruns of "90210" episodes broadcast just 24 hours prior occupy this plum, "premiere" slot? Please.

For starters, moving "Stylista" to Tuesday would break up the back-to-back reality flow on Wednesday (and who's to say that "Stylista" isn't going to flop). One would imagine that "90210" and "Stylista" could flow well since both would seem to cater to the same young female demographic.

Also, why should the CW not try and help out one of its underperforming freshman series? Surely putting in behind its reality crown jewel - which gets more viewers than any series on Monday or Tuesday night - can only help the series. Besides, if "Privileged" fails behind both "90210" and "Top Model" then the CW can cancel the series while saying it was given ample opportunity to find an audience.

By your logic, FOX should have taken Do Not Disturb and put moved it to follow House on Tuesdays.

Actually no, one cannot compare Fox to the CW because the two networks are going after two different audiences. Something that works for CBS may not work for ABC, and so on.

If CW had a deep midseason bench like Fox has then I would allow "Privileged" to likely limp along for a few more weeks and then yank it like Fox did with "Do Not Disturb". Also, unlike the Tuesday 9:00 p.m. time slot on Fox (following "House"), the Wednesday 9:00 p.m. slot on CW doesn't have a current occupant.

The CW doesn't have that luxury. If "Privileged" was pulled what would replace it? Likely encore airings of another CW series, which would make three encore airings a week (counting the soon-to-conclude "90210" reruns and "Top Model" encores on Fridays). Most likely the CW wants to hold off on "Reaper" and "13: Fear is Real" until the traditional midseason begins in January.

I guess you would suggest leaving "Privileged" right were it is and allow it to simply continue bleeding viewers behind "90210". What kind of logic is that? It surely couldn't do any worse behind "Top Model" and if it did, then the network can throw up its hands and say they did everything they could to get people to watch it.

Since the CW doesn't have the luxury of a deep midseason bench, why not try out "Privileged" in another time slot, any time slot?

i wonder what theyre going to do with reaper and 13?? im thinking either.

Wendsday -Jan-feb-
8:00 13
9:00 reaper

when top model and stylista end in december and they can fill in temporary.

then if privileged indeed doesnt work out then

Tuesday -March-
8:00 90210
9:00 reaper

reaper can have its first 7 or so episodes on wendsday then when model comes back it can move here and since they dont have any other shows
they can burn off some privileged episodes wendsday at 9:00

I have a feeling 13 and Reaper will be used on Wednesdays as well. CW has suddenly taken a very different tone concerning Smallville. I now think there's a chance it will stay there the full season in hopes of it being renewed or a spinoff getting ordered. Then once Top Model returns, Reaper can either continue to fill 9pm Wed. or move to replace repeats on Tuesday or Thursday with Stylista or another reality show filling behind Top Model. The CW has also recently picked up a new family drama so perhaps that could get tested there. Personally, the family drama should be tried post-90210 if they are able to get it put together in time and Reaper's extra eps could then replace repeats of Supernatural or Smallville.

Hell yea the cw cant afford to lose smallville right now though there advertisement sais that 90210 is there number 1 show in actuality at the moment its smallville.. as for the family drama i didnt know that they had ordered a new mid season series in that case i agree on tuesday at 9:00,and reaper can stay on wendsdays at 9:00 if that indeed happens and the drama comes in time.

If people say that the CW has changed its tone/tune/whatever about Smallville enough times, will it suddenly become true? Nothing has changed. CW would like the show to continue, but they cannot make it continue.

CW's best show is ANTM, not Smallville or 90210.

It wouldn't surprise me to see 13: Fear is Real on Wednesdays since it is a reality elimination style show. I think CW has better places it could put Reaper, though. Ultimately, I'd like to see them start airing Reaper and then give it a full season order: run the second half of it through the summer so they are not going completely dark next May for 3 months.

Depends on how you look at it really. CW's best show (2007-2008) in the demo is ANTM, CW's best show (2007-2008) in total viewers is Friday Night Smackdown, and CW's best scripted show (2007-2008) is Smallville.

Jumble the schedule...I don't know. They have to do something unless Privledged starts increasing in viewers somehow. The demo is even weak.

Here is a quick glance at its performance...
Week 1 2.64 1.2
Week 2 2.43 1.1
Week 3 1.81 0.8
Week 4 1.88 0.9*
*prelim number, not final

I would probably do something like...

Tuesday
90210 (encore)
90210

Wednesday
ANTM
Sylista

Friday
Everybody Hates Chris
The Game
Privledged (burnoff)/ANTM (encore)

I see 13 and Reaper filling the hiatuses for both Smallville and Supernatural on Thursdays.

With the performance of 90210, I do think the CW has changed its tune about Smallville. And the new showrunners certainly want to keep going.

Creatively, I'd rather see a Green Arrow spinoff, because that story at least has somewhere to go. Smallville is out of creative steam, and they've written themselves into a corner anyway.

But at the end of the day, it's all going to be about whether or not Tom Welling wants to sign on for more.

Privileged is a really weak spot, but I don't see what other option they have. I love Reaper, but it just doesn't seem like a good fit out of 90210.

I don't think that Reaper is strong enough to launch a new show.

Maybe...

Wednesdays
13: Fear is Real / Top Model (Spring Cycle)
Reaper

On topic, maybe:

Tuesday
8:00 90210
9:00 Stylista

Wednesday
8:00 America's Next Top Model
9:00 Everybody Hates Chris
9:30 The Game

Friday
8:00 America's Next Top Model [encore]
9:00 Privileged

I aggree and then next year if smallville does come back they can do this.

Thursday
8:00 smallville Sept-feb Green arrow feb-may

I would much rather have this than the NEW "THE GRAYSONS" about boy wonder robin! i do admire the cw for expanding over teen dramas, but still they should aim higher.

I think that it could. Last season it had a crappy lead in and still managed to surpass it in viewers.

CW Replaces Encore ‘One Tree Hill’ Episode with Encore ‘Privileged’ This Monday
Posted on 02 October 2008 by Robert Seidman

it initially slipped past me, because it wasn’t directly ratings-related, but it definitely is indirectly ratings-related! CW is not throwing in the towel on Privileged just yet. It’s languished on Tuesday’s at 9pm after 90210. Update: Actually it turns out that both Gossip Girl that will air and the nixed One Tree Hill were both reruns and always scheduled to be, so this isn’t really ratings jiggering maneuver…
