Since you already know that FOX has sitcoms all night on Sunday, I'll ignore your first error. As for your claim that EHC would work well at 9:30pm, I wonder how that fits with the 'family sitcom' base?

ANTM does this almost every season. Cast members have appeared on Veronica Mars, Kevin Hill, One Tree Hill, and The Game. As for the former cast member that is going to be on Smallville (her name is Eva Pigford or Eva Marcille), that isn't directly related to ANTM. Instead, she is just a former cast member of ANTM that has gone on to a budding acting career. She was last in Tylor Perry's House of Payne. You can see other former cast members on various TV shows and commercials as well.

Chris is much more younger skewing and male than family skewing. I compare it the equivalent of Malcolm in the Middle. It would've been against the easiest Fox Sunday comedy last year while the female skewing counterprogramming could've filled out the rest of the timeslots. quote: Originally posted by Obveeus: quote: Originally posted by mushu_jj: Moving it to Sunday at 7 for two weeks then to Monday is pathetic scheduling. Sometimes I wonder if The CW is ran the same way as The WB-as portrayed on the underrated "Grosse Pointe" comedy. I can see them suggesting "actress" Eva.
The CW should redo their Sunday. They should consider moving Supernatural and pair it with Reaper. Gossip Girl seems to be DOA. Aside from reality fare, do they have any quality shows for mid-season?

Have any of the winners / contestants done any extensive modelling work, that is, aside from the Cover Girl assignment or whatever prize it is that they win?

None of them have become 'top models', but lots of them have become working models. For example, one is currently doing a national ad for Chili's restaurant while another is doing a national ade for Oil of Olay. Many of them work as runway models, but runway models don't really have 'celebrity' status anymore and don't become household names. That fad went out with the 80's, I suppose. Others have become TV hosts or actresses with 'bit parts'. So far, the show has not produced a 'star', but it has launched quite a few cast members into careers.

In terms of modeling, Elyse and Mollie Sue have actually done real modeling for big time designers. Mollie Sue, who they said lacked passion, has walked for major designers. I have seen her print work as well. Others, yes, just trying to hide their involvement in ANTM if they really want to be models.

That is an amazingly clueless statement. People do not try to hide the highlight of their resume if they want to find work in any sector of the 'entertainment industry'.

Obveeus, you must not have read carefully. It is not a clueless statement as I have background in the modeling and fashion world. I said hiding their involvement for modeling. I am sure if they are seeking to work in acting, etc they may include it. In the modeling world, ANTM has very little credibility.

If you think that former cast members of ANTM have to 'hide' their appearance on that show, to get modelling jobs, you are clueless. That simple. If, on the other hand, you were merely trying to claim that an appearance on ANTM won't help them that much in the modeling world, I'd tend to agree.

Actually, DVR_user is 110% correct. Brittany from Cycle 8 just signed with New York Models and they're having her use her middle name, Corrine, to distance her from the show. Cycle 2's Shandi used to be signed with Trump Models and has said in a couple of interviews that she didn't get a number of modeling gigs because of her involvement with the show. However, recent winner Jaslene is starting to do amazingly well as she has walked in a few NY Fashion week shows and has an ad campaign with Lot 29 (including a billboard in Times Square). So, ANTM definitely gets some girls' foot in the door but also tarnishes other girls' chances of being a successful model. As much as I enjoy ANTM, it's a bit of an industry joke.

Eva Pigford changed her name, too. name changes aren't necessarily done to avoid past appearances on TV shows. More likely, they are done to find a name people will remember positively (Pigford is not it) and uniquely (wouldn't want to be named Brittany in any entertainment field right now).
For ever client that won't hire them because ANTM is 'a joke in the industry', there are a dozen clients that would want to hire them specifically to increase press coverage for their runway show. This is the same industry that regularly pays celebrities just to sit and watch the fashion shows because that is the only snippet of coverage they will get in the 'mainstream' press.

Agree to disagree? In my experience, ANTM is not the type of publicity desired by some designers. I doubt DooRi cares whether some ANTM castoff draws attention to her show. I think for some models, such as Jaslene, who were trying to get some work, it opens the door. Many though, if they legitimately want to work in the industry, should lessen their association. Again, agree to disagree including your word choice of clueless on my comment. I think you were misreading some of the posters comments.
Back on topic though. I do think The CW cannot do worse than last season, but after next year, it can no longer use excuses. The CW had two buzzed about and highly reviewed (Reaper, AIA) this year. Yet, they are not hits. Thankfully given their situation, they can be patient with these shows.
