It is clear that The CW has given up on Reaper, its back April 22 (Tue), but have seen no promotion at all, on the other hand, I've seen Gossip Girl Hype Machine everywhere!
The funny thing is that Reaper get 10% of what promotion Gossip Girl gets, and yet the ratings are very similar. But yet this show is on a death watch, imagine if got proper promotion?

Agreen. I Love this show!! And next tuesday...i will be watching... And a still hope this show will be renewed.... Crossing the fingers!!!
It is a clear case of network favortism. CW is determined to try to make GG a "hit" no matter what the cost and will waste millions on advertising. Meanwhile, since Reaper doesn't fit the "demographic" CW is looking for, it is left to fend for itself.

About 'network favoritism': yes. About 'demographics': no.
Gossip Girl is produced by Warner Bros. Studios. Reaper is produced by ABC Studios.
All the networks 'favor' the shows that are produced in-house.
If Reaper fans want the show to survive, they have to do their own promotion. So, take a page out of dumont's 'Under One Roof' hype and spam every message board on the internet with an announcement that Reaper is returning tomorrow night, Tuesday, at 9pm on CW network. Of course, to really do it up dumont style, the Reaper fans would have had to start spamming two months ago.

I plan to focus half of my little icons tomorrow on Reaper and the other half on Boston Legal. Need the latter to do well too in hopes that Women's Murder Club does worse next week. Yes, I hope that show flops so Boston Legal stays on Tuesday.
I'm not sure promotion will help. CW seems stuck on the shows they want on their network and Reaper doesn't fit their plan. Even if it does come back, it wouldn't surprise me to see it dumped in a Friday slot and given little attention.
As for WMC, as I said before, its chances of survival is slim. BL will come back before WMC.

I rate REAPER's chances a bit higher than some do. The net's "desire" to do without the show is not the same as "being" able to do without it. Their dream of a female 18-34 network will not be realized overnight, if at all. Not a fan of the show, but i have it at 60% chance of returning.
On WMC, keep in mind that no matter what it does in its trial, it is highly unlikely it would remain in the 10pm tuesday period next year. Its partial overlap with the SVU aud would be "murder."

i love most of the cws shows, but i hate the cw everytime i see a gossip girl promo i feel like killing someone!! reaper is a thousand times better than gossip girl and gets way better ratings even without advertisements it beats gossip girl. the cw should give it a rest and give advertisement to shows that deserve it....

OK, technically, I suppose David Baldy - Bret's writing partner - is asking for them, but he's doing it on bretharrison.com, so it counts just the same. After noting that the LA Times has declared Reaper to be "on the bubble," the pair are suggesting fans flood CW HQ with socks. They even provide this handy Amazon link to help you make your sock purchase.
Even if you don't want to join in by sending socks to support the show, you might at least consider digging out the old fountain pen and scribbling out a letter to send along to the network. I think writing it in your own blood captures the spirit of the show nicely, but that is totally optional; regular ink will work just fine. With a little luck we might be able to save the show from being relegated to the dreaded "Complete Series" DVD shelves.

No promotion? You have got to be kidding me? I see more promotion for Reaper and Gossip Girl, than I do Smallville and Supernatural. No promotion my booty....
The amount for Reaper pales in comparison to GG, but so does everything else on that network. As for them getting more than SV and SN, they should, they're new shows that need nurturing.

I dunno mushu_jj, I see ads for both shows in every commercial break... I guess it really depends on where you live.
I just think that common sense would be to spread out the money and promote all your shows. Not ignore your older ones in favor of the newer ones. They don't have to over promote SV and SN but they could use a little bit...
Then again common sense and the CW never really went hand in hand.

By now Supernatural and Smallville should have established enough fan bases that they can skimp a bit on promotion here and there. Supernatural's recent downswing in audience is honestly no one's fault but the over 3 million fans who haven't been watching. Its that way for every program. New shows need more promoting than old shows. This is more a case of another supernatural fan complaining about their show's situation.

Huh? say what? I am not complaining about anything, I just said Reaper gets more promotion than BOTH Smallville and Supernatural. So you shouldn't complain about that...
How is my talking about that, any different about your complaining about the LACK of promotion for Reaper? It's not any different is it?
Wow people told me that you guys weren't very nice on this board. Guess they were right. Very one sided.

I didn't mean to bust all over you, but so many Supernatural fans have done nothing but bash Reaper this year. The thought of them losing their timeslot at first haunted them and when Reaper did as swell in it, they claimed Reaper could have it so their show could move to the easier timeslot. As far as promotion, I'm honestly not that worried about lack of promotion or more promotion for one show over the other. The fact that these shows do better than Gossip Girl alone helps their chances. Sorry I came off negative, we want to have everyone around here stay and add to the forum.
