Hey, if CBS is going to cancel Moonlight, why not send it to the CW? They are going to need something to fill their Friday schedule with without Smackdown....

Fridays
8 Reaper OR Undercover
9 Moonlight

Devils & Vampires OR Cops & Detectives...

One way that CW could solve their development problems, short term, is to air more of America's Next Top Model. They have about an hours worth of 'Bonus clips' on the website just for the first episode. They could slap all those clips together in a 'behind the scene documentary' style show and air it after ANTM instread of airing an encore of Pussycat Dolls. I am quite sure that they would get higher ratings with very little cost to edit the clips together.

Edited to add How to Teach Filthy Rich Girls. Could it be something like The OC meets Gossip Girl? Time will tell.

If they wanna do a REAL reality show, insteada one in which the "stars", knowing they're on camera, act any way but naturally, why not do a series on how a person actually became an asst. editor at a top fashion mag? Just focus on that one person, and what he/she did to land that job. THAT'S reality.

That doesn't sound like 'reality' since it would all have to be filmed as a retrospective where the people talked about how they remember it happening.

With today's computerized special effects, a "Daredevil" show is a possibility.

For those not familiar with Daredevil,"the man without fear", he's a Marvel Comix hero who is blind, but whose other senses are far more acute than those of ordinary people, and who's a superb gymnast and martial artist. His best friend among the superhero set is Spider-Man.

Other possibilities for a CW superhero show:

1.) The BLACK PANTHER, the first really successful black superhero, created by stan Lee. HUGE amount of storyline available!

2.)DR. DOOM, one of the greatest super-villains of all comicdom.yet another Lee-Kirby creation, he is a super-brilliant scientist who is ruler of the small kingdom of Latveria, who hates reed richards of the fantastic Four, and who periodically comes up with plots to take over rule of the world. His weapons are his numerous super-inventions and intellect. His char would be ideal for an ANTI-HERO show.

3.) Revival of the old CBS show "The Flash". I believe that show was a victim of the Gulf War & a bad time slot.

4.) Sgt. Rock, US Army. Could be a son or grandson of the DC Comix WW2 hero, with guest appearances by his aged father.

Just some thoughts...

i don't think any of us really wanna see CW collapse & leave the air, but they're certainly headed that way right now. But I don't see any hope for them unless they replace Ostroff, and soon.

Has there ever been a black family drama? I guess I've never recalled one airing. Not even on UPN. The only drama on UPN with a black lead I recall is Kevin Hill.

Girlfriends was the closest to a 'drama' on UPN/CW. Those people that actually watched the show know that it wasn't just a sitcom.
One of the MNTV telenova's had a large percentage African American viewership, but I don't know how much of the cast was African American.

I think that the 90120 idea is good. I think it would be a good fit with Gossip Girl.

I have to agree... it definitely wont be for everyone, but a 90210 spinoff is probably the best idea that The CW has had for a show in development this season. If it does get picked up and the cast becomes complete; not only would it get new young viewers, but viewers that were fans of the series from 1990-2000 will come back and watch to see what its like.

And I think Rob Thomas would do a good job; while Veronica Mars was considered great by many critics, I can see the same thing happening with this 90210 spinoff, except people would actually be watching.

I don't really know how I feel about a 10yr old spin-off, where are they going to take it? The OC covered Orange County [Laguna Beach/Newport], 90210 covered Beverly Hills and Melrose covered well Melrose the Plaza.

I sort of this this as a dire move on the networks part, especially since Darren Starr [creator of the two] or Aaron Spelling [who sadly pasted a 2yrs ago] will not be apart of it. I love Rob for Veronica, but how is he going to create this new "spin-off" while trying to relaunch Cupid for ABC?

In theory, the 90210 spinoff works. However, the 90210 fans are a fickle crowd. Certain storylines and certain characters have to be done a certain way for their approval and you know there are going to be countless people nitpicking every plotline for accuracy. I can already tell you there will be loads of posts picking apart the mistakes on the new version of 90210. I think its a must to have as many 90210 alums guest star and do archs as possible. Ian Ziering would be a good pick up to the cast. So would Tori Spelling.
