This is from Meaghan who went to see the third episode of The Big Bang Theory taped. This is also the episode where Laurie Metcalf of Roseanne fame joined the cast as Sheldon's mother :

wednesday night we went to warner bros studios again to watch the taping of the third episode of big bang theory. that show is seriously funny. the annoying guy was still the emcee, but the characters and jokes (and free pizza) made up for it. i cannot wait to see the show on tv... they alwasy film scenes with multiple changes of lines to see which ones get the laughs... so when we watch the real episode we will be able to tell which parts are different. yay! monday september 24 at 8:30 on cbs. be there or be square!

Laurie Metcalf will be terrific, I hope she is just as neurotic and obsessive-complusive as Sheldon - thats really what she does best (Guest Spots on Monk, 3rd Rock, and Jackie on Roseanne was quite the same).

She really plays that character well ... lets hope thats what they've written for her.

BBT is the best comedy on TV right now (Chuck Lorre's other creation, Two and a Half Men, is a close second).

Up until very recently when CW relocated their comedy lineup, Big Bang Theory wasn't even the best comedy in its timeslot. That honor went to Aliens in America.

That's all a matter of opinion. I think Aliens has gotten the shaft but in no way do I feel it was the best comedy in that slot and I don't even think its the best comedy on the CW.

Aliens was the 2nd best comedy in its timeslot, but the best comedy from that timeslot that won't be returning next fall.
