The fact that VM is not in syndication yet proves that there is really no interest in it.

Mass appeal arguments have no value unless they have the numbers to back it, which VM doesn't.

So if VM ever does go into syndication, it won't be on a major cable network like TNT.

I am basing my arguments on the reality of the tv business.

I urge all fans of Veronica Mars to visit the site below and add their digital signature to a petition to apply some gentle grassroots pressure to the following networks: USA Network, FX, TNT, ABC Family, and Lifetime Television. The petition reads as follows:

quote:
Veronica Mars is an unbelievably amazing show and it was taken off the air before most people were able to find out about it. It is one of the most well written shows ever on tv and with it's outstanding acting and storylines, television just can not get any better. Without syndication, Veronica Mars will never be seen again on television, because it's network took the repeats off the air. Everyone deserves to be able to check out this phenomenal show, and the only way that is going to happen is for another network to air it. With proper promotion of the show, the reruns are bound to get a lot of viewers. Veronica Mars fans are very passionate and are here to support anyone and anything willing to help get Veronica Mars it's rightful due.

I Petition for Veronica Mars in Syndication!

When enough of us Veronicytes link arms in solidarity, signing petitions, keeping the buzz humming about our cherished show, surely the executive at Warner Television will find a way to bring our intrepid sleuth back and prevail upon Mr. Rob Thomas to continue the storyline...a book, a movie, a tele-movie...all would be welcome and worthy further chapters in the canon of Veronica Mars.

As much as I would love to see VM brought back in some format, the fact is that it's a dead show and I doubt that syndication would really bring any more attention to it. I have all 3 seasons on DVD to watch any time I want, and that's all I need.

Mr. Consoli reports that Veronica Mars will be part of the start-up line-up of the new on-line TheWB.com beginning August 27, 2008.

TheWB.com Set for Aug. 27 Launch

While it's not a national syndication deal, this national web distribution deal will give the growing legions of Veronica Mars fans a new source to enjoy their heroine beyond DVD's for seasons 1, 2 and 3.

Who knows, without any syndie deal currently underway, Veronica Mars could become the number one series webcast on the new TheWB.com? Wouldn't that be a sweet irony for her massive following of Internet fans.

Additionally, after seasonal stints on UPN and The CW, Veronica Mars is soon going to be showing on the network where many said she belonged all along...The WB!

I look for theWB.com to start out fairly slow but it could pick up thanks to fans being able to see shows no longer syndicating like Everwood and Veronica Mars. However, its my guess that the likes of Friends, OTH, and the OC will be among the higher rated downloads. Buffy may also surprise us.

Veronica Mars: The Movie

Mr. Ausiello reports that Mr. Rob Thomas and Miss Kristen Bell recently had a contre-temps on the set, where she is thesping for 'Heroes' and he is busy scribing and producing his two pilots, 'Cupid' and 'Outrageous Fortune', concerning a "Veronica Mars" movie.

LINK TO EW: Exclusive: Bell, Thomas Orbit 'Veronica Mars' Movie

If everything falls into place, we could very well see "Veronica Mars: The Movie" hit the cinemas sometime in 2009.

Now that is something to look forward to.

If a VM movie were to come to fruition, I could easily see this. Why not HDNet? They often pick up limited run series to run ("The Agency," "Kidnapped," "Jericho" being some), and this is definately (quality wise) a show that lives up to the type of show they add.

Veronica Mars Now Syndicated Across Second Canadian Cable Network

In addition to the web deal with thewb.com and the syndicated five-night-a-week stripping on W network (a femme-skewing network) that has now been running for about a year in Canada, Veronica Mars has now been added to the fall schedule of Cosmopolitan TV (another Canadian distaff cable network) every week on Thursdays at 9 pm.

The network for the 64 episodes of 'Veronica Mars' in North America just keeps on getting bigger:

Mr. Ausiello's report back in August on the Veronica Mars movie has generated so many comments (over 1,500 comments and counting), that any attempts to access the page are met (on my computer, at least) with a very lengthy wait for the page to open.

Further details are emerging on the planned direction for the movie, which is being shepherded by Mr. Joel Silver. Mr. Thomas is penning a script, and Miss Kristen Bell has committed to star in the feature.

And the story will not follow the leap-ahead 'Veronica Mars: FBI' mini-pilot for a planned season four. Instead, the mystery will stay rooted in Neptune, with Veronica still in university, and many of the characters from the series returning.

So sweet is the news that our belle could be coming back?

I truly don't understand what's the thinking in making a feature film. I would've understand a TV film but a big screen movie doesn't have any logic.

I say make the movie so the fans finally stop complaining about the overrated series that never lived up to the hype of season one.

Star Trek made a big splash as a feature film and so did Firefly.

Personally, I'd prefer a mini-series style movie like the Farscape fans got.

Are you really comparing VM with ST?

Its like comparing McDonalds hamburgers (VM) with a steak from Outback or my parent's grill (Star Trek).

I also hear ARrested Development could become a feature. If they did not work on TV, why would they succeed on the big screen?
