The syndicated version, also hosted by Howie Mandel, premieres tomorrow. Any thoughts on its prospects?

I just don't think DoND is interesting enough to be sustainable as anything other than "event television" as it is in primetime. The pace will be faster (so I hear), but at the end of the day the game itself just doesn't have much to it. I think I'll check out the premiere to see what it looks like, but I think this will struggle.

Interestingly, it airs at 7:30 on my NBC affiliate, so its premiere will lead into a national telecast of DoND. And it'll be head to head with Jeopardy.

It will be on at noon in Chicago. Notoriously a low rated time slot and a history of cancelled shows. The numbers will be an improvement over here even if they are nothing to brag about.

It is not even airing in my home market. Apparently the 700 Club, repeats of Little House, the overrated Tyra Banks, and Extra are more worthwhile on our NBC affiliate. Plus there's oodles on our Fox affiliate that's completely worthless too.

Watching Bonnie Hunt right now. So far so good. Would make a great pairing for Ellen imo.

I don't have Deal or No Deal in syndication either. Instead, my NBC affiliate removed Entertainment Tonight at 7:00 and replaced it with Inside Edition (used to be at 7:30) and added Two and a Half Men at 7:30.

I agree, but after all these years, it seems nobody can beat Erica Kane and "All My Children".

I'm surprised it got the noon time slot here and not 4 p.m., but up in Milwaukee, it airs on WVTV at 5 p.m.

If I were NBC, I would've put this syndicated version on hold. As soon as the primetime version fails, there's nothing saying this won't fail either or even push the primetime version to failure. Perhaps waiting until the primetime version failed (ala ABC's Millionaire) would've worked better.

I doubt they'd expect it to beat it. I'm sure they are hoping for competitive though. (Isn't Young & Restless on then too?)

Yes. Believe it or not, ratings for "Deal" in Chicago on Monday averaged a 1.5/5, up a whopping 400 percent from what was there last September, according to B&C.
