But the premiere ratings for the comedy block can't any lower than last year's...
The preview of Aliens in America that is available on CWTV.com makes the show look interesting/funny. I think 3.5million is too high to expect, but I also think that the Monday CW comedy block will tick up in the ratings over this coming year.

Yes, the trailer is interesting. But surely they'll make some edits before exposing it to the public this summer.
I also agree -- I think the comedy block will improve this season. If it doesn't, we have a big problem. But if I had to bet on it, my money's on a 10% bump (or better).

Got to see the pilot... it is HILARIOUS and really well done... Nothing on Monday fits with Aliens so it wouldn't surprise me if the CW figures out a way to move it out of the comedy block. If nothing else it should lead off the night.

Where else are they going to put it?
The only other place they could logically put it would be Sunday at 7:30. The 'family' concept might make for a better lead-in to Life is Wild. I suppose they could also double up and show episodes of Aliens in America in place of any 1-hour show, but I don't see them doing that, even for sweeps. The one move that does make sense is to swap AiA with EHC since EHC is so weak as a lead-off for the night.

that's the million dollar question.... I just don't think it fits well with the Monday comedies and if you are going to put it there at least let it kick off the night.
I wouldn't cram the Office in between Two & Half Men and Rules Of Engagement for the same reason. All comedies do not attract the same sort of laughs.
If it was me... I think I would split up the comedy block... it's not a proven winner on any level so why force all the sitcoms into one night?
I'd Do Something like this..
Monday Beauty and the Geek Girlfriends The Game
Tuesday Everybody Hates Chris Aliens In America Reaper
I think that the CW should just leave their comedy line-up as it is since there isnt really much they can do.
To really boost their Mondays, I would air back-to-back new episodes of the midseason comedy, Eight Days A Week, after America's Next Top Model in the spring, and then move to show to Mondays during the 2008-2009 season. Girlfriends should also be over by then while The Game could either be cancelled or go on hiatus (only if "Days" is a hit though). Or if Aliens In America does fail, my guess is that The CW will put Eight Days A Week in its timeslot.
But "Aliens" seems rather compatible with Chris, while Girlfriends already has its own fanbase and doesnt need to rely on AIA in order to bring in ratings. Overall, I think their Monday night comedy line-up is a step in the right direction.
