Check this TV.com article out regarding "America's Next Producer".

When was the last TRUELY original idea on TV?

The Office takes the concept from Spinal Tap

All the "Reality Gameshows" are roughly the same, just different settings.

Even Dramas are the basically the same.

Now we are getting into reimaging old TV shows. (Battlestar & Bionic Woman)

TV is NOT about originallity, but it can still be entertaining

But these "concepts" seem to always come in bunches. Usually, they are successful ones though.

And while TV might not be about originality, if you look at the biggest success stories, they usually are highly original and fresh.

Many have tried to duplicate these concepts in different ways and never achieved the same success.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure America's Next Producer has been in the works for quite awhile.

Nevertheless, I don't know how someone can pick a 'producer' winner. They have so many jobs and their jobs vary from producer to producer.

No doubt they did.... I'm sure this bunching of same show types is related to the conception stage. Information leaks.

I doubt if Fox will holler too much...after all, I place my garbage into a dumpster on the edge of my property. If anyone wishes to steal it, neither my trashman nor I would object. i seriously doubt that there will be any legal battle such as there was over "Contender" & "The Next Great Champ".

BTW, I had predicted on other boards that BOTH those boxing shows would flop, as boxing has a limited audience, & mosta us get our punch time on ESPN, etc.

I know this topic is done with but...... Ugly Betty is one of the most original shows out there. Doesn't anyone agree.
