I find it hard to believe that CBS's "Two and a Half Men" won the 9 PM half hour last night in the ratings. The entire episode had to do with sex or implied sex involving dogs, peanut butter and fruit, and words like "douche bag" and "vinegar" were tossed around with no regard to decency. Does CBS actually think this is funny? Does the network think this is comedy? Obviously, they're laughing all the way to the bank and the top of the Nielsens, but last night's episode was so juvenile and tasteless it didn't deserve to be on at any hour, let alone 9 PM.
I'm not a religious activist or parental rights zealot, but it's no wonder our kids and our society are in the shape they're in when junk like this litters our airwaves. Ridiculous!

I also think Two and a Half Men has become too raunchy this season.

Well, I take it you will both be watching Jon Cryer on Leno tonight. Marc, has 2.5 men really gotten more raunchier this season. I believe last season ended with Alan marrying Kandi (who I miss very much).

First off, it is not intended for kids, so blame a parent who allows them to watch this show.
Second, it was funny. Yes it is raunchy (perhaps pushing the edge), but it is still funny. I'm more worried that it is becoming this decade's "Three's Company". No Shark sighted yet, but a ski jump is being constructed.

One man's "junk" is another man's humor. Unfortunately, my DVR seemed to fail on me (I wish it had failed on Christine) - perhaps my deceased religious mother had something to do with it... (Would you happen to have a recording of it you could send me ZMAN? DVD would be preferred.)
But every other episode I have seen has been hilarious so I can see why it would win its timeslot. Kids are in the shape they are in not because of 2 1/2 Men, but they are in this shape because of lazya** parents who have no clue on how to say no or how to better monitor their kids viewing habits. Thank God that TV isn't all programmed with 12 year old children in mind. Perhaps some day, some religious conservative will buy a network and make you happy. Oh wait, that did happened and PAX lasted what - 3 years?

I found Monday's episode pretty funny. Although, I can understand why the raunchiness might be a turn off to some. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It helped that Berta and Holland Taylor were on this week and, at least for this particular episode, I felt that the sexual innuendos came from a more character driven situation than some other episodes.
From what I've read about him, it seems that Chuck Lorre likes to push the network censors buttons, and likes see how far he can go with the sex stuff. I bet they have some very tense meetings.

Does anyone ever record and freeze their screen at the end of the episode to read Chuck Lorre's "secret" message? It basically just appears for a second before the credits roll. He sometimes rants about his beefs with the network censors.

I love this show and its raunchy humor. Can't a sitcom be aimed at adults? Why does everything have to be kid friendly? That is why we have Nickelodeon and The Disney Channel. Adults want adult humor too. If you don't like raunchy humor, don't watch.
I hate those small minded arguments that shows should not be on the air because they air content you don't approve of. There are hundreds of channels on TV now - flip to one of those programs. If viewership is good for a show you don't approve of, it will stay around. If everyone agrees with you, it will be cancelled. Get over it! What a silly post.
I couldn't agree more. There are so many people out there who have nothing better to do than to inflict their opinion on what others should be watching. I am going to guess that he wasn't a regular viewer of Queer As Folk.

Well comedy can be for the whole family and be successful. Reba is relatively clean and it does decently in its death slot. For years ABC had hilarious family comedies across the board, and they all did well in the ratings. Hard to believe that watching their comedies today. The only family comedy left worth watching is GLo and Knights of Prosperity, which isn't family friendly, will get the boot any day now.

I agree, but i think there are good shows that can be clean and family friendly as well as shows that are full of "adult humor". My issue (and the point of my post) is when someone takes issue with Comedies that are not family friendly being on Network TV. And if he wanted to see raunchy, he should have checked out Lucky Louie on HBO......

Yes, and Lucky Louie was even less funny that 2.5 Men.
