Grey's Anatomy especially and Law & Order SVU season finales have generated a lot of anger, hatred and promises to stop watching. These seem to be typical, sanity-preserving reactions to episodes or shows that become nihilistic, depressing, hopeless, joyless messes. Yeah, I know that's redundant, but that's for much needed emphasis of the point that misery is a turnoff.
As a point of discussion, what other things about a finale led people here to not want to return to a show? Favorite character death? Plots not given enough setup to be believable in the context of the show? Unwanted character turns? Just plain dumb? Wonder if any patterns will emerge from your experiences that can serve as a lesson to studios or networks, so that all us viewers don't get subjected to more of those problems (yeah, right).

Excellent: Lost (although I'm not quite sure what the hell is going on ) Very Good: Desperate Housewives, CSI, Shark Average: Criminal Minds, Without a Trace Disappointing: American Idol (the whole season was), 24
I just love how grown men are saying: "That Heroes finale was so lame! There was no totally rad CGI showdown between the good guy and the bad guy! Why did I watch something without a super rad CGI showdown when I could have been watching something totally rad instead? "
Mediocre: 30 Rock (hilarious as usual, but lacking as a finale)
Good: HIMYM (legen, wait for it...), Heroes (obvious, but still insanely cute), My Name Is Earl (shame they can't keep him in the prison for half a season, just doing good things and changing criminals into... softer criminals)
Bad: Supernatural (hilariously bad, though, so I liked it), Veronica Mars (would've been pretty silly for a season finale, inexcusable as a series one)
Ugly: Lost (what the hell L&C, that's really the best game changing twist you can come up with?)
And that's all I watched at this point of time. TV pretty much sucked this year.
Amazing: Lost Good: Brothers & Sisters, Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty, Prison Break, Heroes, Boston Legal, The Office Mediocre: 30 Rock Bad: 24, American Idol, The Amazing Race (Still love the show though!)
TBD - The Shield
