I looked on Google and found this as well as other sites conferming this. The telenovela is to air in the summer of 2007. CBS is producing five and the best one will make it to the airwaves where it will be on twice a week for thirteen weeks.
So basically is it is trying to make successful what My Network Tv couldn't. Maybe CBS can succeed with this, since they probably have awesome casting. This will be quite funny if it tanks.

Hmmmm, if you look at the date on the article, it was written in January of 2006, therefore, the summer they were referring to has passed already and CBS must have scrapped the plan.
I can't see them trying it now with what happened after MyNetwork. But it was interesting that they planned exactly what I said MyNetwork should have done and that was to run it first in the Summer. (And even better was to make it only twice a week.)

Well all the networks were experimenting with telenovelas this past summer. I don't remember for sure but wasn't CBS's Tuesday Night Book Club part of that plan? I know it wasn't a telenovela, but it was one of many serialized projects aimed at females.
