1 vs. 100 debuts on Friday, Oct. 13 on NBC at 9 p.m. The Rich List is Wednesday, Nov. 1 on Fox at 9 p.m. At I think it's a shame that what sounds like summer fare is coming on now.
If you think that's weird, how about William Shatner hosting a new game show called "Show Me The Money" coming soon. He may be 75 but he will always be the immortal Capt. Kirk.
I read that CBS is reviving Name That Tune with Donny Osmond of all people hosting. It'll include live musical performances by well known artists. They're describing it as "American Idol meets Deal or No Deal." This show and host screams "MOTHBALLS!"
Okay, I'm only 25, but I have to say I like the old format of game shows much much better...a la the 70s and 80s games. Much peppier and no need for "mood lighting and music" to try and make the viewing experience more intense and edge-of-your-seat nail-biting that is totally unnecessary in my opinion. They take it all way too seriously...game shows should be light and fun!

OMG Marc - I thought I was the only one out there who missed Greed. That was one of my favorites (and wasn't that the last show to do decent ratings for FOX on Friday night?) I wish they'd consider a remake for their Friday night lineup, which needs something fun.
I don't ever rule out any genre and usually like the game shows I've seen on primetime. (Deal or No Deal is a notable exception - ugh!) I hope these future attempts are better and more original.

Still cannot figure out why they cancelled that one - if I remember right, the numbers were not terrible, and it had to have been cheaper to produce than an hour long drama.
Well, unlike the hour long drama's, it shouldn't be too difficult to bring Greed back.... Marc, can you use your clout in the TV industry and talk to the folks at FOX to get them to bring the show back to Fridays...? (he, he...just kidding...)

I believe, regarding the cancellation of Greed, that it was a surprise to everyone. I saw Chuck Woolery in an interview a month or so ago, and he said that he had been told that the producers had already been promised by Fox that it was coming back the next season and suddenly, it wasn't. I miss it, too, especially since I have now seen all the episodes on GSN.

I really wish they brought back a newer version of Press Your Luck and not that Whammy garbage of a few years ago. If they ever did bring it back, I hope it would retain the same look and feel of the 1980s version.
As for Greed, wasn't that the complete ripoff of Millionaire? I always thought it was a bit awkward in its format with that eliminator. Remember when they made sure that their show made someone the then-richest-winner in game show history by bringing one guy back to answer a really easy question? That was enough for me!
Weakest Link was a much better clone but that sank fast too when it got bogged down in those dreaded celebrity versions and tiresome Anne Robinson insults.
I would like to see a new version of "Press Your Luck" and not Whammy!! myself. Maybe MyNetworkTV could bring back "The Newlywed Game" with Bob Eubanks at some point.
