I don't see any topics about this great show, so I'll start one.

First, I consider it a TV show not a miniseries but I guess Showtime plays the mini card for the improved chances of an Emmy nomination. But showing entire seasons in week-long sprints is a fantastic idea, from a consumer perspective atleast. I wish more shows, like say...LOST and 24, would follow suit.

Second, I love it. Micheal Ealy got the Emmy nod for best actor in a mini-series but I think it's a mistake. He does a great job, never raising a voice but still maintaining that collective intensity with his downplayed beats. However, the real gem of the show is Oded Fehr as Farik al-Farik--The Jack Bauer of Jihad.

Anyway, the second season wrapped a few hours ago and I'm still soaking. I hope Showtime renews it for a 3rd season. Do subscription channels monitor/release/care about the ratings?

Sleeper didn't garner big numbers last December, despite it's excellent quality. It's final episode garnered about 310,000 viewers, and last years series averaged 208,000 viewers for its 10 episode run. The average represented about 2.5% of Showtime’s subscriber base.

I was pleasantly surprised that Showtime brought it back for a second cycle of episodes.

Do you know how that compares to Masters of Horror, Weeds, Penn and Teller Bullshit, and the new (and fantastic if I may say so) Dexter and Brotherhood?

Do you think it'll be renewed? They've got alot of original content.

Brotherhood and Masters of Horror both got around 150,000 viewers and the Weeds final got 600,000. Dexter is the most watched Showtime Show EVER with 1.1 million this past Sunday.
