I haven't been a fan of Charmed since the beginning, but I got into it during the 6th season. Now I'm a little obsessed, ask anyone in my house.
I would love a Charmed Spin-Off, I think it would get a lot of attention, especially cuz of the guys.
But I don't think that it should start with Wyatt being evil and Chris trying to save him, that to me sounds redundant of season 6. I do, however, agree with you guys on the Leo and Piper front, them being guest stars and whatnot, I like that. The idea of the show being focused on them trying to build a life around magic, I like.
But I also thought about one other thing, what about Bianca? If the shows gonna be set in the future you have to show a little of Bianca.
There are just so many things you can do with this show that it'd be stupid not to air it. You have an enormous amount of choices as far as where its going, who's gonna be in it, stuff like that. I even agree with what Kj said about a little crossover, what better way to boost ratings than to have a little crossover episode of Supernatural and a Charmed Spin-Off.
Support the Charmed Sons.

What's the link to the website for the spin-off again? I'll write something up in The Programming Insider tomorrow.

Charmed continues to have a large and devoted following which would certainly give any spinoff a chance. And there's no doubt a show based around Chris and Wyatt is the most popular Charmed spinoff idea and the one which excites the most fans.
It just makes sense that the CW should at least consider the potential of this show. It has a ready-made audience waiting and hoping for it to happen, while most of their new shows are struggling.

Does it really make sense? Even though Charmed was bigger, in the end, than a lot of the shows that are currently on The CW... does spinning a show off of it already limit potential audience? And if The CW is going to launch a show, doesn't it want... doesn't it NEED a show that has the potential to be a breakout hit (at least in 18-34), a show that can bring in 5+ million viewers? Not trying to rain on the parado, but it The CW wants to brand itself as far away from the "Patchwork Quilt of UPN and The WB Shows" then I don't think a spin-off of Charmed is such a good idea. Now, a show created by the peoplewho created hit WB shows like Charmed, or Joss Whedon, or even Kevin Williamson (let's see how HIDDEN PALMS does...)

The biggest problem with The CW is trying to get its audience to watch new shows. They have their current shows which all have a loyal fanbase, but convincing those viewers to invest in a new show is very difficult. Charmed had, and still has, a very loyal fanbase. A spin-off of Charmed based around the adult sons of Piper and Leo would definitely bring that Charmed audience in as viewers out of curiosity. It would then be up to the producers of the show to make sure they keep them there. The Charmed Sons could rate as well as Smallville, or Supernatural. It could be produced very differently to Charmed - maybe more like Supernatural, but it would still be telling the story of the Halliwell family which would interest the Charmed viewers. Creating a new hit series is not easy for any network. For a new network that only has long-running shows on it with very loyal fanbases, is even more difficult. Why not entice the viewers you had from a previous hit show back to your network by making a spin-off, but not just a carbon-copy of the original series, a show that is good enough to then build its own loyal viewership by telling its own stories in its own way. Chris and Wyatt were very popular characters, and I believe that the first episode of their new show would achieve at least 3-4 million viewers, who would be curious to see their story continue. Whether those viewers stayed with the series would depend on how it is produced. Frasier was a spin-off of Cheers, but it did not resemble the show it came from. The producers took a popular character from a popular sitcom and made their own very successful show that outlasted the original because they produced a good product. The Charmed Sons could definitely be a hit show if it is produced well.

Absolutely! Charmed is one of a few shows that has reached cult status, thereby creating an instant fanbase. Add to that the fact that the most beloved characters of Charmed are Piper and Leo, their adult sons Wyatt and Chris have already been introduced on Charmed, to great success, and you have a great spin-off potential. Drew Fuller and Wes Ramsey have great on-screen chemistry, as witnessed in Charmed's episode Chris Crossed. This was a very highly rated episode of Charmed, so I think if you have willing actors in place who already have established chemistry, the CW would be foolish not to give it a chance, pair it on a night with Supernatural, and see what happens.

How many characters do you think the show should have?
In the series finale of Charmed, Phoebe and Paige ended up with 3 kids... That would be too many characters to develop on the show, no?
Now we could look at it as that was "A" future and not "The" future. And well, because the future changes with every decision we make so anything could happen.
But personally I would like Phoebe to have her daughter. I'm not sure about Paige though. She could have her son. Maybe even have one or two of them that were killed etc. But one thing that could stay true to the series finale is Piper and Leo being alive but of course they could change that to.

I put a message in today's PI on this, folks. Where do you think the spin-off should take place?

What i think that has failed to have been meantioned and I think it needs to be said; is that Actors Drew Fuller and Wes Ramsey are 100% for the series. that is rare for a fan started spinn-off concept for 2 major actors to agree fully with the idea and want to be part of the new series. I think the network is making a mistake not picking up Charmed Sons.

I see your point, but as a long-time fan of Charmed (who bought the first four season DVD's) I remember the intense interest in the sons during their character arc in Season 6. Since then, a spin-off with the boys has been one of the most heavily talked about ideas with the fan base. I think pairing The Charmed Sons with Supernatural is a fantastic idea. It would really add buzz for the CW. However, given Dawn Ostroff's seeming inability to gauge what viewers want (as in her decision to drop Everwood and not consider doing Aquaman), I doubt this will ever happen.

Thanks Marc. We appriciate it. As most people say, the spin-off should take place in the future. In terms of location. Whether or not Piper and Leo live, they could either live in the Manor or be roomates at there own home... or college.. etc.
