For the last few weeks, Marc has been comparing The CW's Sunday night ratings to Charmed from last year. At the time...Charmed doing over 4 million was quite a drop from what it used to rate, but in comparison to The CW's Sunday night ratings this year...Charmed was absolutely brilliant!!

Given The CW's lack of new "hit" shows, and the fact that alot of their current shows are losing their shine - would a Charmed Spin-off based around adult sons Chris and Wyatt be the answer to their Sunday night problems? Charmed always did (and still has) a very loyal fanbase, so doing a spin-off to grab that audience would make sense. And given the success of the Winchester brothers in Supernatural - a Charmed Spin-off about the two Halliwell brothers (Drew Fuller and Wes Ramsey) would be similar enough, but different enough to entice both the Charmed and Supernatural audience.

This spin-off idea already has a strong following and even its own forumwith more than 1700 members.

I don't think The CW has many other options for Sunday night. The comedies didn't work, and Seventh Heaven has dropped dramatically from what it was achieving last year.

I think The Charmed Sons could be a "hot" show. What do you think?

Interesting idea. I think it could work especially paired with Supernatural.

Which would definitely have worked, had The CW done what it ought to have and picked up a show that people were actually going to buzz about in Aquaman (not saying it was good, barely a Smallville, let alone a Buffy, but it followed the superpowers and hot bodies tradition to a T).

I couldn't agree with you more Travis Yanan. Aquaman would have gotten a lot of initial tune in and I'm betting that the show could have been a long term hit for the CW. This is just another example of Dawn Ostroff's inability to program.

I loved Charmed and I liked Chris on the show, but I can't see a good spin-off. Where should it take place: in the future? Anyway, adult Wyatt has been boring. The stars of Supernatural are more interesting as Wyatt and Chris.

CW made the right decision not to pick up Charmed and Everwood. Even WB hits have lost viewers, so ratings of Everwood and Charmed (or a Charmed spin-off) would be a disaster.

The episode that featured both adult Chris and adult Wyatt back in Season 6 of Charmed rated more than 6 million viewers. That was the highest rated non-premiere episode since the days when Shannen Doherty was in the show.

I agree that it was time for Charmed to end. Not many people thought that a show like Charmed would have lasted 8 years...especially with major cast changes and scheduling moves. But there is no denying that it did a good job on a Sunday night against tough opposition. Why not try to grab the Charmed and the Supernatural audience by coming up with a series about the 2 magical Halliwell brothers?

Even if half of those 6 million viewers who watched Chris and Wyatt in Season 6 of Charmed tuned in to watch a spin-off, The CW would be doing better than they are now on a Sunday night.

The advantage you have with a spin-off is there is already an interested audience waiting to watch. All you have to do is come up with a show worth watching. It is a lot harder to get viewers to watch a completely new series with new characters...especially on a new network.

It worked with Buffy and Angel. And the major networks do it with the CSIs and the Law & Orders. Remember the success of all the Star Trek series, and now Stargate SG1 has Stargate Atlantis. An another example is Cheers/Frasier. Add to that the fact that with Heroes being such a "hot" show, there is definite interest in magical/supernatural/superpower type shows at the moment. What would The CW possibly have to lose by at least doing a pilot for this spin-off series?

Not to mention that the brothers concept (Supernatural, Prison Break etc) is doing pretty good.

Since the beginning, Charmed has been an amazing show (I may be biased since I'm a big Charmed fan). Obviously, over the course of eight years, the ratings have gone down quite a bit; but those of us who are still loyal Charmed fans know that a Charmed spin-off of Wyatt and Chris would be an amazing addition to CW from anyone's percpective.

Now, I can only tell you from my perspective, but I know I'm not the only one who loves the show and is sorry it ended. But from MY point of view, there are SO many reasons why a spin-off of Wyatt and Chris Halliwell would soar and help CW ratings.

No teenage girl would be able to deny that the boys are cute -- a very important factor in our lives, of course Wink -- and the drama and humor laced in would definitely make it worth watching. We have already raised $3,259 and we don't plan on slowing down any time soon. We are completely dedicated to getting a Charmed spin-off on their sons!

A loyal Charmed fan forever!

Where do you think the show should take place? And what do you plan on doing with the money you are raising?

I think it'd be a GREAT idea for the CW sunday nights. The only show I really watch anymore is Supernatural. Although Supernatural is up against a pretty tough fan base of CSI: and Grey's Anatomy, but I still watch when I'm not passed out already. Sunday nights needs a good show.

What's wrong with it taking place in the future? And with where Charmed left off, it's set up a GREAT start for a spin off. new demons, maybe even OLD demons. I"m sure there wasn't just ONE Succubus... or ONE Wendigo.... there's plenty of things that they could do with a spin off. I would be all for a spin off, and would watch religously.

Drew and Wes have both expressed, (Wes in an interview with the CharmedSons Admin and Drew on Drewfullerfan.com) that if they were to do a spin off both would sign on... it'd bring people back to the network... so why not get a spin off in the making?

Supernatural as a lead-in against Football? Doesn't seem very smart to me.
