Found this story About NBC Comedies and it seems MY hope for networks to produce 30 episodes season mya start to become a reality

Exit laughing: NBC retreats from comedy - from hollywoodreporter.com

Excerpt:
"NBC's top comedies 'The Office' and 'My Name Is Earl' will produce 30 and 28 episodes, respectively, next season."

This would almost eliminate that "Dead Zone" time frame of March/April, where some series are lucky to have 3 new episodes air in a 8 week span.

I think this works for certain shows, not sure that all shows could squeeze in this many episodes, but I certainly like it.

well it is not really 30 episodes of Hero's, it is more specifically a 30 combined episodes of "Heroes" and "Heroes: Origins," So yes it will be on for 30 weeks, but not all "original" Hero's episodes. Hats off to NBC for keeping it fresh the whole season though.

It will still have fresh content, which is good.

It may take a couple of more seasons before a net goes forward with 30 completely original episodes, but this is the first step in the RIGHT direction.

Will the other Nets follow with selected series getting major bumps in episodes ordered?

If so, which shows will get 26+ episodes next season?

I could see a couple of the CBS Sitcoms getting more eps next season, espcially if HIMYM does com back. Keeping that show fresh in March/April would realy help the night as a whole.

I could see CSI: NY & Miami get a few extra eps.

Over at Fox, Prison Break would be a candidate for 3 or 4 extra. The animated block NEEDs it, but may not be possible at this time.

ABC porbably needs it most of all since a lot of their series do badly in repeats.

That is great news even though i'm not a fan of either show.

Also, is that part of the reason why Scrubs is only getting 18 episodes, so they have a little extra money for the office and earl?

Just read more details on the Heroes and Heroes:Origins combo. NBC is not sure how to intermix the two, but here is what I would do..

I believe the 2007-08 season will begin on Monday, September 17th. Have Heroes start a week later on the 24th.

Then air 4 more Heroes the first 4 weeks in October (5 mondays in October this year). on the 5th Monday, Air the first Origins episode.

In November, run 4 more Heroes episodes. On december 3rd, air the second Origins episode. Then shut down for the rest of December (3 weeks).

So, going into January, you have aired 8 of 24 Heroes and 2 of 6 Origins.

Start Heroes back up on January 15th, after a 5 week holiday layoff. Air 2 Heroes episodes then an Origins episode.

In February, air 4 Heroes episodes.

In March, have a Monday special programming (3/3) in place of any Heroes. Then air one more Origins episode (3/10) and Three Heroes episodes (17th, 24th & 31st).

Going into April, you have 5 Heroes and 2 Origins episodes left.

Start April out with the last 2 Origins Episodes, then run the remaining 5 Heroes out and end the season on May 19, 2008

I read in an article (can't remember where) and NBC has already said that the Origins episodes will all run consecutively. The 2 options are: run all 24 Heroes episodes from the start of the season (taking a break in December for the holidays), then run the 6 Origins epidoes. OR run about half of the Heroes epidoes (again taking a break in December for the holidays), then run Origins 6 episodes, then run the remaining Heroes episodes. They said there is no way they will break up the Origins episodes.

Here is the link from Zap2It.com That I read.

Here is the 2nd to last paragraph.

Just how the "Origins" episodes will be scheduled along with the main "Heroes" storyline has yet to be worked out. The most likely scenario, Reilly says, will be to have "Heroes" start its second season in the fall and run more or less straight through its 24 episodes, with perhaps a short break during the holidays. "Origins" would then follow at the end of the season. Another option would be to run "Origins" "as a chunk" in the spring, before the concluding episodes of "Heroes."
