Thank you tv-aholic for providing the preliminary fast weekly nationals. Are you going to cover MyNetworkTV this season? They now have series that rank intermingled with The CW's bottom eight. I think they have earned a spot on your esteemed, first-to-hit-the-street weekly summation.

I would be more than happy to include them, if I had a consistan source for their numbers, on a daily basis. Do you know of a sight?

I feel like my MyNetworkTV has finally entered the big leagues (or The CW has tumbled down into the minors).

Now we must find a way to persuade Douglas to include them in one of his many games.

He is thinking about a selection similar to the Disney Channel and Nick, highest rated program for the week o the Net.

Not sure if it would be a weekly feature or just for special games

The audience for PP and DSM is similiar. If PP can hold DSM will do well.

Whenever I see age demos they scare me. Kid Nation being on the youngest list is no surprise, but the average age still over 40? Yikes. Only 3 new shows managed to capture an average audience under 40 years old?

I am surprised that Moonlight skewed so old. Its A18-49 demographic number was pretty good on both Friday and Saturday.

Also, I think Gossip Girl's extreme youth-skew should guarantee its long-term survival on The CW since this is the audience they were aiming it towards.

For next season, he could include MyNetworkTV in the cancellation game (and the first renewal game too if he starts it).

But that is presuming that C2H would have brought in the same numbers this fall.

In the new DVR world, its hard to compare numbers anymore. You almost need to look at them relative to other shows that current season.

I agree that comparing current numbers to prior years is a bad idea. Doing so makes almost everything look like a 'loser' this year. We probably need to hold off on even claiming that it is just a DVR issue. DVRs are likely a big part of it, but TV viewing may just be in decline (internet growth) and network TV viewing may certainly be shedding viewers to cable as cable networks increasingly offer their own, original fare. Whatever the reason for lower overnight network ratings, the networks will be looking at a show's 'sucessfullness' in comparison to other shows currently on the air, not in comparison to last year, 2 years ago, or a decade ago. They have to base their business on the present and future.
