That 18-49 $100k+ list is especially interesting. NBC really cleans up in that demo.

That seems like a particularly worthless data set since it is a percentage of viewers rather than a total number of viewers. If some show only had 2 total viewers, yet one of them was a 49 year old making $100K, the show would be #1 on that list.

I don't beleive it's just a percentage. It's an index, with 100 as the base line. The higher percentage above 100 the better (it reflects a more upscale audience of the total demo audience watching the show).

Here's how Nielsen arrives at these indexes:

A show's rating among adults 18-49 in certain upscale groups is divided by the show's overall 18-49 rating, generating an index. One that's higher than 100 means a show has a bigger chunk of upscale viewers than the general 18-49 TV-viewing population, while an index below 100 means the show has a lower percentage.

The ratings measurements offer advertisers a closer look at the kinds of adults 18-49 they're paying for. Higher scores in these measurements generally translate into more money for the network.

So, exactly like I said, it is a percentage and a show with only 2 total viewers, but one of them in the 100K/18-49 demo would put that show at the top of the list.
