Notice how nobody is talking much about the often overrated "compatibility" issue with HOUSE and FRINGE? Contrast this with the I believe excessive handwringing in CBS threads about CSI and ELEVENTH HOUR. Someday it may sink in that shows like HOUSE and CSI are general audience hits with both genders and all age groups and almost anything good can lead out of them.

BONES not on friday in the fall? Looks like I can collect that ten-spot from that good ole' bookie out there in cyberworld Wink

You were right about Bones although I still think it could move in the fall and be used to launch something new. Fox is clearly feeding Prison Break's final episodes to the Heroes/2.5 Men dogs, not to mention Dancing. I'm not sold SCC is the real deal either. The declines were quite concerning. This fall could be a real eye opener.

Counter Programming (cheap reality fair) on Thursday for Fox all season long. Count me out. I was hoping House move to 8pm on Thursday next spring, so it would not be interrupt by Idol during the winter months.

I've really enjoyed the attempt at year round programming from FOX this past year. I actually found that I watched more network tv than I had in years, despite the strike.

I liked tuning in to a new series like SCC and then New Amsterdam as soon as the former ended. I didn't think either of them were great in any way, but they both entertained me. It just seemed that the mid-season shows got more attention and a chance to flourish, rather than being buried in the usual glut of L&O and CSI first-runs. (I still think FOX cancelled the show with more potential though, YMMV).

I'm not too sure about leaving SCC on Mondays without a lead-in and I'm even less enthused about Dollhouse debuting there. I was hoping that it would start out behind Bones (which already has a Whedonite following). Unfortunately, with the mid-season debut, that would put it back on Friday nights. Can you say Firefly and Wonderfalls? And despite my love of all things Whedon, this show doesn't sound as promising as either of those shows.

The Fringe sound interesting and has a nice spot behind House. I'll be sampling it, even after being burned by the great Lost pilot and promising early season, that became, IMO, annoyingly unwatchable by it's second season.

I thought they were going to move the Wednesday comedy block to avoid CBS' Wednesday comedy line-up. I could be wrong...it happens frequently (just don't tell my husband that).

Nah, House leading off Wed. this midseason will basically lead to it dominating even more. Honestly, I'm guessing Bones will stay on Wed. with House staying on Tuesday. I'm not sold on any of these new shows.

Overall, I liked that.
The Good:
I like the concept. I liked the look (what we got of it), and I love John Noble.

The Bad: The girl reminds me of Rachel Nichols, who was a giant black hole of "meh and suck" on The Inside.

Obviously, a position of that gravity would be held by someone in their late 30s or older. I guess all those 35+ actresses in Hollywood were busy that day.

I think that House leading off Thursdays into something like Courtroom K or Queen B would have made FOX a strong player on the night. From descriptions, I saw Fringe as the 24 partner and Dollhouse teaming up with Bones.

Saw some clips of these new shows:
1. A new midseason comedy called Outnumbered. This looked hilarious and may finally fill that Malcolm in the Middle void. Praying it gets that post-Idol results slot.
2. Fringe: Didn't look half bad but felt almost as if it was better off as a movie or something. Had remnants of Alias.
3. The Cleveland Show: What we saw was basically the premise of it. Didn't sound half bad.
4. Sit Down Shut Up: Clips didn't give us much but the voices are great so I'm hopeful here.
5. Do Not Disturb: Brash smug comedy that fits the Fox of past days. Liked it but it will most likely fail like many past hilarious Fox comedies.
6. Secret Millionaire: Not my thing but could pull in the Oprah/EXM: Home Edition crowd.
Didn't see clips for the rest.

While House would increase Fox's Thursday audience, a lot of tune out would happen at 9 and it could actually drive up audience for ABC and CBS by simply bringing viewers to the night or back to it. Not to mention it would cripple Fox on a night in the fall in the process and I do not believe Bones would do very well Thursday at 8 (at least not better than Moment of Truth or perhaps even 5th Grader).

Do you have a link for these show clips?

I saw Do Not Disturb which I absolutely love. I'm afraid that having Til Death as a lead in will kill its ratings though. It is the best comedy idea FOX has had in at least the last two years.

Fringe looks fantastic also. Very creepy vibe to it.

I disliked Dollhouse and didn't get the appeal at all. If it wasn't Joss Whedon, it wouldn't get all the buzz.

I also disliked Secret Millionaire and didn't see the point of it except to be a direct copy of Oprah's Big Give.

Haven't seen anything on Outsourced, Sit Down Shut Up, or The Cleveland Show.

Fox.com has some of it in their fall preview and then tvweek.com has a nice set of clips too in their upfront section.

I am pretty much only anticipating 2 new fox shows, the only returning show I will be watching is Sarah Connors.

Fringe, exactly as how I had expected from JJ. I loved the preview trailer FOX released, it was amazing. It felt exactly like X-Files and that could be a good or bad thing but in this case it was pure perfection. Mysterious but not to the point it bores you with facts.

Dollhouse, I saw the preview TV.com had released and I was not impressed, a very poor clip to pick from IMO. Otherwise, I am still anticipating the show no matter what, at lease until I see the whole "Pilot."
