Fox Gets Nothing But The Truth - Colombian import hitting the US from broadcastingcable.com
Fox has picked up Colombian game show import Nothing But The Truth.
The game show routinely draws over 50 % of the total TV viewing population in Colombia, and has been syndicated in 23 other countries, including France, Italy and the UK.
In the show contestants are hooked up to a lie detector, and a host asks probing questions, all the contestant has to do is answer 21 questions truthfully, as determined by the lie detector, to win up to $500,000. As the stakes get higher, the questions get more revealing.
Potential questions could include: “Do you really like your mother in law?” “Have you ever lied to get a job?” “Do you really care about starving children in Africa?” or “Have you ever cheated on your spouse?”
Fox has not yet announced a host or premiere date for the show.

"What rough beast/its hour come round at last/slouches toward Bethlehem/to be born"
No game show should have questions like "Have you ever cheated on your wife?" Its stupid and is just there to tear down someone and ruin their life. If they want to cheat while being filmed 24-7, that is their choice, but the other crap that people leave behind should not be used to humilate a person. What's next? The question "Are you sexually attracted to the same sex?" Its stupid. I hope it bombs.

So how long until we get shows like Death Race or the Running Man?
Peronally I think we should have televised public trials with the verdict and punishment voted on by the viewing public...and stupid producers that think up crap like this should be the first trial and a hanging offense.
At least you would be comfortable answering that. There are many many who lead a hidden life who a stupid game show should not out, but rather let them handle it on their own terms. If they chose to wall off who they are and live a facade, that is their choice, although imo a bad choice.
But I suppose that is a bit off topic, and not really for these forums. Back to the game show! Or lets hope not.

I just don't think someone who is that worried about certain questions (like that for example) would apply for the show if they couldn't handle giving the honest answers. Do you think that someone who cheats on their spouse would apply? If they did, then they pretty much would deserve their fate.
I honestly can't think of any question that someone could pose to me that I couldn't answer truthfully.
But a bigger and more legitimate concern I would have is that lie detector tests are not permissible in court for a reason. They are not 100% accurate, so someone may fail on a question wrongfully and America would see it.
But as for being a "bad choice", I can't even say that. We live in such a judgmental society that for some, given their career etc... it's impossible to live your own life as you see fit. Just look at this board on occasion. People are ridiculed for their choices of TV shows they watch. (Perhaps one of the questions will be "Did you ever watch 'Yes Dear' on a regular basis?" -)
