I have received confirmation on this today from David Manson, too. He did mention a hope of another network picking it up, slim to none on that chance I'm sure but at least it sounds like it's getting shopped around.

Did a chimp or two transfer from ABC to FOX during the writers strike?
How many times do I have to tell you, Til Death is a good comedy that's improved immensely. It mainly doesn't fit with the Fox lineup. In the case of New Amsterdam, poor results when it had a lead in that last week (new Bones) is what did it in. I don't think it would've hurt to try it out on Fridays at midseason but it was never going to catch on and become a big hit, which is what Fox wants. Not that Til Death probably will either but its no secret that if it were on CBS where it belongs it would probably bring be bringing in 20 to 30% more audience.
Somebody at FOX really likes Til Death. It's gotten more chances that it deserves. From a business stand point, it likely came down to Back to You's higher price tag and the higher number of episodes udner Til Death's belt. They want that sitcom syndication money and just like According to Jim and Scrubs, if they can squeek it in, they'll do it.
I think that FOX wants to save the Bernie Mac sitcom to pair it with the Family Guy Cleavland spin-off in hopes of creating a black comedy hour like they did with Martin and Living Single.
