FOX has been looking very good lately, but come September, how will they look. What will be on the Fall Scedule from this years shows?
Mondays - Prison Break will be back. Tuesdays - HOUSE is a given to be back Wednesday - Bones will be back Thursday - Unless things dramatically change, 5th Grader will be back. Saturday - Cops & AMW will be back Sunday - the 4 animated comedies should all be back.
That leaves about 7 hours of programming needed for the fall (1 each for M-Th, 2 on Fri and 1 on Sun).
Is Til Death doing well enough now to get a call back?
Do the returning shows stay in their current day and time?
Also, Fox has announced that the Kelsey Grammer, Patricia Heaton in 'Action News' will be on the fall schedule and FOX just announced that Anchorwoman was picked up for 6 episodes.
Unless Til Death does really poorly in the coming weeks, I see it being paired with Action News (based on the show's description it sounds like a good fit for it.) Til Death was actually pretty good last week (definitely better than first part of the year) and I think it will be back.

Okay never mind, I just read the other post about it. I think Fox should go with a 4 sitcom Wednesday lineup and then can the lowest rated once Idol comes around in January. Move House to Thursday to pair with something new or 5th Grader. Add another night of 5th Grader to Friday with Nanny and Trading Spouses rotating the other hour. Then move Bones into something new on Tuesday and use Prison Break with the hopefully high-rated Drive on Monday. Then on Sunday use the 4 cartoons and maybe even add a new cartoon, shoving King of the Hill back to 7:30.

I agree completely. I thought it was sunstantially better last week than that crapfest earlier in the season. Paring it with Action News would give FOX three recognizable stars in an hour.

They will likely leave the Trading Spouses/Nanny 911 combo on Friday. Drive would probably be on Mon 9/8c after Prison Break if it does well. And I'm sure they will find room for at least 2 House repeats per week.

Did FOX actually cancel Bernie Mac, or is it just on permanent hiatus? I can't remember. (King of the Hill was on hiatus for nearly a year, if I remember correctly.)

Bernie Mac was shuffled through about 5 time periods in 3 years before Fox unceremoniously dumped it on Friday. Then the network forgot to advertise for Bernie and company making sure death was on the way. Its sad because Bernie would work well with Til Death and maybe even the horrid War at Home if aired on the same night.

Technically I believe Happy Hour is still on hiatus.

I'm surprised Fox hasn't promised a return this summer like they've done so many times in the past, only to replace the programming with something else at the last minute.

If Drive does well, as I think (and hope) it will, they should pair that with Prison Break at either 8 or 9. I say leave Prison Break at eight and put Drive at nine until 24 comes back, which is another shoo-in for renewal. There's a chance it won't do well against Heroes, but there's also a good chance that it could grow out of Prison Break and not do 24-esque numbers, but at least consistently hit at least a 4.0 in the demo (something Prison Break struggles to do). Prison Break and Drive together create a fun-filled, roller coaster ride, male-driven, escapist night, so to speak. I think that is why Justice and Vanished didn't work after Prison Break. They're simply too heavy.
Come midseason, it should be either Drive or Prison Break followed by 24. FOX should run one of those with no repeats, and then put the other one at eight.
Tuesday:
House followed by something else, obviously. Looking at FOX's drama slate for next season, there isn't much that really looks like it fits too well. The Cure would be the obvious choice, so perhaps that, or an edition of Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader could go after House.
When midseason starts and American Idol returns, keep it at 8. But, I don't think FOX should put House after it. House doesn't need that huge boost, and it's had it for three seasons. Give something else a chance. Yes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. But, change can be good. If Sarah Conner Chronicles isn't complete crap, launch that out of American Idol. Otherwise, I think they could grab a solid female audience out of Nurses.
Wednesday:
Bones is pretty solid at 8, even though it doesn't get a huge audience. Keep it there. You want something to go after it that could build off of Bones, because a decline from Bones' 8 - 9 million or so could spell trouble. Another edition of Are You Smarter... is the only thing I could think of.
For midseason, keep Bones at 8, followed by American Idol, followed by the strongest comedy FOX has in development in both buzz and potential success. Action News looks like that show to me. Unless FOX feels like 'Til Death is going to be able to grow creatively, I definitely think Action News belongs there.
Thursday:
Hmmm, Thursday, Thursday, Thursday.
If the other networks keep their schedule the way the are now for the 8:00 hour as they most likely will, I think FOX should risk launching something new there.
Come midseason, I think House should anchor the 8:00 hour allowing FOX to have an actual presence on Thursday. Yes, audience might decline, but I see House doing a consistent 11 - 12 million per week which is better than it has been doing for awhile. Then, that something new should go after it.
No, I don't think so. If On the Lot does well, promote the hell out of it, and then put it there followed by two comedies. Comedies are sorely lacking on Friday night.
Come midseason, On the Lot will probably have finished its run. I think Are You Smarter... should move to 8 and then either Nanny 911 or Trading Spouses could go after it. FOX could order 13 episodes of Nanny 911 and 14 episodes of Trading Spouses (Each swap takes two episodes to wrap up its storyline). This would cost more money, but perhaps it could help diversify its programming.
Saturday:
COPS and AMW. Nuff' said.
Sunday:
Keep it mostly intact. The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Family Guy, American Dad. Maybe, you could fit 'Til Death in there too.
The Rundown:
Monday:
8:00 Prison Break 9:00 Drive
Midseason: 8:00 Prison Break/Drive 9:00 24
Tuesday:
8:00 House 9:00 Are You Smarter... or something else
Mideseason: 8:00 American Idol 9:00 Sarah Conner Chronicles or Nurses (NEW)
Wednesday:
8:00 Bones 9:00 Are You Smarter...
Midseason: 8:00 Bones 9:00 American Idol 9:30 Action News (NEW) or 'Til Death
Thursday:
8:00 something new (NEW) 9:00 something new (NEW)
That is way too risky, and it wouldn't happen in a million years, but I can't think of anything right now.
Midseason: 8:00 House 9:00 One of those new shows previously stated
Friday: 8:00 On the Lot 9:00 Comedy (13-episodes) 9:30 Comedy (13-episodes)
Midseason: 8:00 Are You Smarter... 9:00 Nanny 911/Trading Spouses
Saturday:
No change
Sunday:
No change other than fitting in 'Til Death somewhere if it continues to do well out of AI and creatively.
So, comment please. I'm eager to see what people have to say. Please keep it constructive and not irrational. It just makes you look like an idiot.
