FOX Renews 'American Dad'

Just ahead of the Fourth of July holiday, FOX has renewed the patriotic animated series "American Dad" for another season.

Already set on FOX's Sunday schedule for the 2007-08 season, the renewal will actually carry "American Dad" through to the 2008-09 season, which would be its fourth.

The extended order would bring the show's overall episode count to 84.

Great news! I love this show. I think its actually surpassed Family Guy in quality.

And as long as FOX keeps doling out duds like "The Winner" and "The Loop", there will be plenty of room on the schedule.

FOX needs to develop more animated comedies. The placing of Live Action in between them has not been working.

I agree. I wish they would've brought back Futurama to fill a 1/2 hour. I don't mind them leading off with rotating repeats either, but they should go original at 7:30. King of the Hill did well there when the lead in was Simpsons or Family Guy repeats.

Or move the 4 current shows to another night and move Bones, House and a new show in between for Sundays.

It only worked for Malcolm in the Middle. Part of the problem is the live-action comedies don't fit, and the other part is they haven't been very good.
