New Amsterdam has THREE episodes left, with the season finale airing on April 14th... It's surprising to me that the audience for NA would prefer Dancing With The Stars, etc... as they really aren't that compatible. The March 10th numbers were essentially the same as it's second half-hour ratings on the 6th... perhaps if FOX moved it.

Now seeing the full set of numbers, I echo my observation from the Thursday thread that Canterbury's Law did better than most probably expected for a series so hastily transplanted from Mondays at 8 pm to Fridays at 9 pm (not listed in paper-based tv guides), and retaining 94% of the Bones viewers and 86% of her young adult demo.
Mr. Reilly is a man of demonstrated patience when it comes to quality series trying to build an audience (Friday Night Lights, 30 Rock), and I have no reason to believe he is still not open-minded about the future of this moody, atmospheric legal meller.
I think that both New Amsterdam and Canterbury's Law are both going to be getting the ax. The network wasn't crazy about airing them to begin with, cut their episode orders and with so many time slots filled already, the success of Moment of Truth, Dollhouse's 7 episode commitment, and a very promising JJ Abrams (Lost, Alias, Felicity) pilot, I think that hope is gone for NA, CL has maybe a 1 to 6 shot of a midseason BUT only if it rebounds next week and improves again after which is highly unlikely.

NA looked so promising when I read what is was about but it really dissapointed me. Cancel this so another show can take it's place, like Dollhouse.

I have really been enjoying New Amsterdam, including tonight's episode. I highly doubt it will be renewed, but I'd prefer it over Back to You, 'Til Death, Prison Break, American Dad, and King of the Hill, among the mediocre performers on FOX.

I think if New Amsterdam was really that good, then people wouldn't have been tuning out each telecast. I personally find Til Death, Back to You, and American Dad all very enjoyable. King of the Hill however, needs to end and Prison Break is on its last legs.
