I have been wondering for a little while... Fox ordered series like Canterbury's law, The Rules for Staring Over and The Return of Jezebel James but those aren't really acclaimed from the critics or just seems bad and not interesting......

Why is Fox not being smart and order great pilots they had and turn them into bit HITS.... I am talking about Them, who looks really really good, Nurses, which seems really interesting and fun to watch and why not a good comedy for once like The Hot Years. The reviews are sooooo goood, why is Fox not trying to repair the damage before it's caused?? Can we do something to show that we could possibly be interested in those shows??

I don't think any of Fox's new shows will work. Truly awful.

Back to You and Kitchen Nightmares have the best shots at making it. K-Ville is a distant third. Everything else is a long shot, especially New Amsterdam.

I think Back to You and Kitchen Nightmares have the best shot, but Sarah Conner Chronicles has a good shot too. Being related to the Terminator movies should help this series, but fans may be critical if all of the storylines don't fit. This show will probably premiere high and drop if the quality of the show is not good.

And what I've heard about Sarah Connor has been mixed results. It may do well, but it will all depend on timeslot. Seeing as that Fox is unlikely to get a hit out of KVille, I'd say it could still end up on Monday or maybe even Tuesday after Idol. Then it would have a chance, but on Sundays opposite Desperate Housewives, Cold Case, Medium (presumably), not to mention quite a bit in terms of cable stuff and several preemptions for big events early in its run, then its a long shot. Also, Family Guys is a decent lead in, but not the world's greatest lead in. Why this got benched until midseason is surprising, unless Fox feels the simple amount of exposure the Superbowl and Idol can give it will make up for it remains to be seen. I still would've made it my signature fall show and aired it after Prison Break, moving KVille to Tuesdays to pair with Bones. House could then go to Thursdays where it belongs.

Unless K-Ville is a lot lighter in tone than the promos make it seem, I don't see that working well with Bones. Wasn't everybody complaining last fall about how the light Standoff should've been paired with the light Bones, while the two slightly darker shows (House and Justice) should've gone together?

Then again, there's a pretty good chance K-Ville won't really work with ANYTHING. Anthony Anderson's great, but I think Sarah might have a better chance in the fall.

And why does House belong on Thursday? Just because of higher HUT?

I agree with original poster that Unhitched, Jezebel, Canterbury, and Amsterdam are pretty much all long shots.

To an extent, FOX is guilty of just sitting back until the spring and letting American Idol take care of everything. But just because a show gets good reviews doesn't mean it will be successful. Just ask NBC. Wink

House does not need the Idol (and Super Bowl this year) lead-in anymore. It has developed into a consistent ratings hit even without Idol. With FOX's history on Thursday being terrible combined with the higher HUT, it would be a good fit. And I stress that it should be placed at 8 pm to avoid Grey's Anatomy and CSI, where it could also nurture a new show in the 9 pm slot.

I think all this talk about what is wrong with Fox will fall away when they are destroying the other nets in the demo by next spring yet again. Smiler

Possibly, but I think 5th Grader/Lyrics Thursdays will be strong enough to stick around into the spring. It's excellent counterprogramming compared to the disastrous Til Death/Happy Hour/OC, where all the comedy fans were watching NBC at 8 and all the soap fans were watching Grey's at 9. What a mess that was.

Although maybe a House/Sarah Connor Thursday could work. Sarah seems to be the only midseason show that wouldn't lose all its audience to Grey's or CSI.

I think that somebody at FOX, whomever is in charge of picking pilots, is either not watching them, has bad taste, wants MYNetwork TV to look like it's not that big of a failure by comparison, or is just plain stupid.

Here is what I would do if in charge:

Monday
8:00 Prison Break (Oct - Dec) / THEM (Jan-Feb) / Prison Break (Mar - May)
9:00 THEM (Oct - Dec) 24 (Jan - May)
Let's have an adrenaline packed Monday all year long. 24 will keep it's same format of running straight through in January and Prison Break and Them will just play musical chairs.

Tuesday
8:00 NURSES (Oct - Dec) / American Idol
9:00G House (Oct - Dec) / NURSES (Jan - May)
A night with two shows that just happen to take place in a hospital. House stays put so Nurses doesn't get killed by Dancing w/ the Star's results until Idol comes back, when Nurses will hopefully have built an audience and then slide back into the coveted post Idol hour.

Wednesday
8:00 Bones (Jan - May)
9:00 K-VILLE (Oct - Dec) / Idol: Results (Jan - May)
9:30 K-VILLE (Oct - Dec) / The Return of Jezebel James (Jan - May)
Bones will remain a Wednesday staple. And K-Ville squeaks by, so we can air something until Idol comes on and we can attempt to launch a sitcom.

Tursday
8:00 5th Grader (Oct - Dec) / House (Jan - May)
9:00 KITCHEN NIGHTMARES (Oct - Dec) / CANTERBURY'S LAW (Jan - May)
5th Grader and Kitchen Nightmares can hold the fort down until January when we get aggressive and move House. Canterbury's Law will inherit the 10/9c time slot since it's not a genre similar like the major plays in this time slot and it could work after House.

Friday
8:00 BACK TO YOU
8:30 Til Death
9:00 THE NEXT GREAT AMERICA BAND (Oct - Dec) / K-VILLE (Jan - May)
Let's see if Back to You can breath some life into the sitcom FOX is treating like royalty. Then, let's give the reality wheel a spin and plop K-Ville here later if it does well enough. If anything, if can't get much worse.

Saturday
8:00 Cops
8:30 Cops
9:00 America's Most Wanted
Why break tradition?

Sunday
7:00 The OT (Oct - Dec) / King of the Hill (Jan - May)
7:30 The OT (Oct - Dec) / American Day (Jan - May)
8:00 The Simpsons
8:30 King of The Hill (Oct - Dec) / Family Guy (Jan - May)
9:00 Family Guy (Oct - Dec) / SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES (Jan - May)
9:30 American Dad (Oct - Dec) / SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES (Jan - May)
Once upon a time, we had a god thing going here with comedies then The X-Files. I think we can duplicate that success if we do it right. Plus, no live action comedy had done well on this night except Malcolm in the Middle.

Fox will not put Back To You on Friday. With the star power it has, its got too much potential to hit and will not be put on a low HUT night.

Nor would they juggle the schedule this much. Too much for the audience to keep track of.

One of them works overtime while the other doesn't work at all. Wink
