It's just pitiful really. Can't believe NBC has turned into that much of a trainwreck after being number one for so many years.

I watched Roommates last night, and I was pleasantly surprised. it was a very good show, and very funny. The acting was a little shoddy, but still, much better than I thought it would be.
Did anyone see the info about the TV Land awards? Among the recipients: Two and a Half Men for the Future Classic Award (although how it didn't receive it already is beyond me) and Julia Louis-Dreyfus for the Legacy of Laughter Award (much deserving, to add).
Haha. This has occured to me. At any one time in there have to be multiple crews shooting multiple angles spread from Scranton to New York. The costs must be immense. And its been going on for five years now. But I just love that they never abandoned this absurd premise and continue to reference the cameras constantly.
With its planned 12 episode run, at least the UK version was a little plausible in this sense and actually showed the impact of the documentary on the characters when it did air.

Even accepting that the regulars have gotten used to the documentary film crews following them around (there have got to be like a dozen or so of them, to get all that footage), that doesn't explain why all the OTHER characters are fine with it (and don't even seem to notice), or why Dunder-Miflin isn't concerned about corporate confidentiality, or lawsuits, etc.
And who the hell is funding this documentary? Is it supposed to air on TV someday? Do its subjects never stop to think about what the impact on their lives would be if it did?

I would have thought it had occurred to everyone who has ever watched the show for any length of time.

Well, it's not as if they have any choice in the matter--it's the format. They got it from the original British show--however, Reno 911 borrowed that format almost two years before NBC's version of The Office showed up. And it's actually more plausible on that show than either version of The Office, because reality shows like that do exist, and are shot on video. They also refer to the camera crew a lot more regularly on Reno 911.
I normally don't agree with too many of your posts, but I'm all aboard with this one. Before everyone crowns BBT as HIMYM's saving grace, take into account what is said below.

I really like Medium and am sad to see it tank. But its 18-49 ratings are really low these days. Those ratings and the loss of the 10P slot next year are probably the nail in the coffin for future of the series.
an original installment of 24 (Viewers: #3, 10.30 million; A18-49: #3, 3.4/ 8), which remains on the map despite not being the ratings powerhouse it once was.
I'm really fed up to see this words EVERY WEEK. "Not being the ratings powerhouse it once was". "24" is really doing a great season in terms of rating. The show has not been on air for almost 20 months, and season 7 is very stable with everyweek around 11 million viewers IN SEASON 7.
Many many shows can't say it. It's very impressive for Jack Bauer to have this big fan base 8 years after his launch ans ratings are still better than in season 1, equivalent to season 2, and better than the season 3 average which more than the half of the season aired after American Idol ! Yes, "24" delcined among 18-49, but in total viewership, this is absolutely not true !
SEASON AVERAGE (only new episodes counted) Season 1 : 8.7 million Season 2 : 11.8 million Season 3 : 10.4 million Season 4 : 12.1 million Season 5 : 13.8 million Season 6 : 12.6 million Season 7 : 11.5 million (so far)
How many shows can say they had been stable and growing over the years and even after a 2 years break ? Hit shows like Lost, Desperate or Grey's are losing viewers seasons after seasons (not fast like Heroes, but still) and for now, they are only in season 5. At what level Desperate and Grey's will be in season 7 ??
FOX should be very pround of "24" and I don't think season 8 will be the last if ratings continue to be good.
That is a good practice. Don't start agreeing with many of his posts, because he is basically a moron here, and only spins HIMYM crap. The BBT repeats have higher numbers than that awful 7.40 million HIMYM put up this week. In fact, the last two BBT repeats put up 8.72 and 8.32 million. Not only would BBT have put up higher numbers for a new episode and a repeat last night, but the repeat would have beaten HIMYM's new show number of 7.40 million. HIMYM is a follower, not a leader. It does fine with a good lead in like it has now. It is not an anchor show. Deal with it, and move on.

The way Castle is crumbling, Medium will probably be back in second place (in a three horse race) very soon. Whether that's enough to keep it around, I have NO idea. But NBC sure as hell should cancel Chuck before it cancels Medium.
Fox Orders Six Scripts for ‘Bones’ for 2009-10 Season By Josef Adalian
Fox is moving closer to picking up another batch of “Bones.”
The network just ordered six scripts of the 20th Century Fox TV crime drama, with an eye to using the episodes during the 2009-10 season. While not an official renewal, the script order is a good sign that the network plans to greenlight “Bones” for a fifth season later this spring.
“Bones” has long been one of Fox’s best utility players. The network has aired the show in five different timeslots since its 2005 debut, and it’s always managed to draw an audience.
The series has proven to be a particularly potent weapon for Fox this year, helping the network establish a solid presence on Thursday nights. Since relocating to Thursdays in January, “Bones” has boosted Fox’s season-to-date average in the 8 p.m. timeslot by 43% in adults 18 to 49 and by a whopping 74% in overall viewers.
More impressively, “Bones” has scored victories against ABC’s “Ugly Betty” and NBC’s comedies.

Shame too... it really makes for good TV.
I think Medium will see at least 1 more season. The demo really isn't that bad, compared to the number of viewers it's now bringing in.
It really is a shame. I don't understand why people have stopped watching this great show.
Yet Smooty agreed with Obveeus this week like most people who've watched how these things work would.

Can you chart out the demo?
Per I. T. R. S. RANKING REPORT posted on ABC site Season 7 of 24 through March 22 shows a season to date ranking of 19 and an average audience of 13.04 Million viewers. Which would put this season ahead of all previous seasons but 5. Of course there are 9 episodes left that will change the average - either up or down.
Hey man, perhaps you need to check your history. The hype surrounding Britney and HIMYM happened at the same time the show as moved to 8:30 last spring. HIMYM has since outdone BBT in the ratings. Not that it matters because CBS loves both programs. They're just more dependent on Warner Brothers staying afloat and supplying them with several programs, not to mention they're the other half of CBS's other network, the CW.

Now stop with your nonsense already.

i love BBT and i think HIMYM is complete garbage. had BBT not come along HIMYM would have never seen a ratings increase, and would have been on the bubble yet again.
I highly doubt that. From what we've seen, the two shows seem to have pretty defined audiences of their own. What helped HIMYM more than anything (and BBT as well because they're in the same hour) was Britney Spears last spring. She introduced a ton of viewers to both shows.
