Prime Time Ratings:
Saturday 9/15/07

The following results are based on the fast affiliate ratings (Live Plus Same Day data):

-Total Viewers:
ABC: 6.53 million, Fox: 5.51, CBS: 4.75, NBC: 3.95

-Adults 18-49:
ABC: 2.3 rating/8 share, Fox: 1.8/ 6, CBS: 1.2/ 4, NBC: 1.0/ 3

----------

-Ratings Breakdown:
Led by College Football, ABC dominated this typically mundane Saturday, with an average 6.53 million viewers and a 2.3 rating/8 share among adults 18-49 from 8-11 p.m. Fox, which normally ranks first in adults 18-49, ranked second in both categories care of mainstays Cops (Viewers: 5.56 million, A18-49: 1.9/ 7) and America’s Most Wanted (Viewers: 5.46 million; A18-49: 1.8/ 5).

CBS finished third overall with its repeat combination of Jericho (Viewers: #4, 2.48 million; A18-49: #4, 0.6/ 2 at 8 p.m.) and a two-hour edition of 48 Hours Mystery (Viewers: 5.89 million; A18-49: 1,5. 5 from 9-11 p.m.). Last for the evening were repeats of NBC’s Most Outrageous Moments (Viewers: #3, 4.35 million; A18-49: #3, 1.2/ 4), Law & Order: Criminal Intent (Viewers: #4, 4.11 million; A18-49: #4, 1.1/ 3), and Medium (Viewers: #3, 3.40 million; A18-49: #3, 0.9/ 3).

Personally, if I were on of the Big 3 networks programming Saturday, I would schedule a night of original game shows. Wouldn’t that be a unique, and inexpensive option?

May we repeat the statement, "Another typically dull, bland summer TV Saturday"? After all, except for football & news, it WAS almost all repeats, so why not repeat the statement?

Cometa think of it, Marc, I remember when Saturday eves DID have a lotta game shows...but that was "back in the day"....

And I remember those grand days of All in the Family, MASH, The Jeffersons, MTM, Bob Newhart and Carol Burnett. Now, those were the days!

Maybe CBS could consider doing six weeks of Price is Right specials at 8 and their six midseason Power of 10 eps at 9. The Price is Right specials could include some of those Bob Barker specials from late last season, an encore of Barker's last episode, an encore of Carey's first episode, and maybe something else.

Leading into 48 Hours Mystery at 10, that'd be an inexpensive Saturday night, but it'd probably fare fairly well. Too bad it'll probably never happen. Frowner

Marc, could we get the half hour breakdowns for 48 Hours.

I love the game show idea. A night of game shows would be awesome and I think would attract any viewers home on Saturdays.

The USC Nebraska game (among others) pulled in a pretty solid number in spite of the game being a complete blowout.
