Fox keeps up heat with 'Hell's Kitchen'
Network averages a 3.6 in 18-49s for the night
By Toni Fitzgerald Jun 4, 2008
With the other networks littered with reruns, Fox and its all-original lineup picked up yet another easy Tuesday victory.
The network averaged a 3.6 adults 18-49 rating and 11 share, according to Nielsen overnights, more than doubling No. 2 CBS at 1.7/5. It marked Fox's 21st straight Tuesday victory in the demo, tying a network record.
Fox won both its primetime hours, though “Moment of Truth” at 8 p.m. was down 10 percent from the previous week, from a 3.0 to a 2.7.
“Hell’s Kitchen,” the Gordon Ramsay reality series, was even to last week with a 4.4, the night’s top-rated show.
Meanwhile, reruns littered the other networks’ schedule, with the CW, NBC, CBS and ABC offering an hour or less apiece of originals.
ABC’s original content consisted of primary coverage from 10:08 to 10:36 p.m., meaning that the overnight ratings will not accurately reflect last night’s audience; “Boston Legal” was joined in progress in the Eastern and Central time zones, and “Samantha Who” was interrupted in the Mountain region.
For the night, NBC placed third at 1.6/5, Univision fourth at 1.4/4, ABC fifth at 1.3/4 and CW sixth at 0.6/2.
At 8 p.m. Fox led with a 2.7 rating for “Truth,” followed by Univision with a 1.7 for “Al Diablo con los Guapos.” NBC was third with a 1.6 for one original and one repeat of “Most Outrageous Moments,” CBS and ABC tied for fourth at 1.5, CBS for a repeat of “NCIS” and ABC for repeats of “According to Jim,” and CW was sixth with a 0.7 for a “Beauty and the Geek” rerun.
Fox led again at 9 p.m. with a 4.4 for “Kitchen,” while CBS moved to second with a 1.8 for “48 Hours Mystery.” Univision was third with a 1.5 for “Fuego en la Sangre,” NBC fourth with a 1.4 for a repeat of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” ABC fifth with a 1.3 for an hour of “Samantha” reruns and CW sixth with a 0.6 for a repeat of “Reaper.”
At 10 p.m. NBC and CBS tied for the lead at 1.8, NBC for another “SVU” repeat and CBS for a “Without a Trace” rerun. ABC was third with a 1.1 for a repeat of “Legal” and Univision fourth with a 1.0 for “Aqui y Ahora.”
CBS led the night among households, finishing with a 5.7 average overnight rating and a 9 share. Fox was second at 5.0/8, NBC third at 3.9/7, ABC fourth at 2.7/5, Univision fifth at 1.8/3 and CW sixth at 1.1/2.

With Marc and Travis not here I propose that we all make our own "Mediaweek" winners/losers list...mine is below
Biggest winner: Hell's Kitchen
Mixed Results: Without A Trace vs. SVU
Loser: Moment of Truth
Analysis:
Hell's kitchen is a solid show and would give any show a run for its money, The show will challenge Survivor next fall on Thursdays. On the flip side "Moment of Truth" although winning its timeslot in the demos is should be doing much better. The show has absolutely no competition yet is unable hold last weeks 3.1 demos. Not a good sign for a show that will face Survivor next fall.
The move of Without A Trace opposite of long time (and still dominant) Law & Order: SVU appears to have a mixed results, neither winning or losing. In my opinion the 10pm tuesday slot this fall will look a lot like the 10pm Wednesday slot (CSI:NY vs. L&O) no real winners yet only losers as both shows have suffered.
Noteworthy: Isn't it sad that According to Jim repeats do better then Samantha Who?

Moment of Truth's numbers aren't great, but I think it's still solid for the summer if disappointing overall (given that it was doing so well in the Spring) and for its potential to do well in the fall. If it keeps a 2.7 - 3.0 in the Fall (which I doubt it will), it'll still do better then Are You Smarter...
It did singlehandedly win its timeslot in the fall.

I think that's a bit of a draw for me, I'm not a fan of samantha who. According to jim can be funny, but I don't think i've ever found Samantha who funny, as much as I want to laugh.
Anyone wanna say who they think will be nominated for best comedy series at the emmys?

KISS rockers Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are planning a reality show to hire their own replacements when they quit the band.
During an interview with a reporter in Norway, Simmons revealed a deal has already been done and that the show would begin shooting this year.
He told Roy Hilmar Svendson, "We have already signed the contract, and it is going to go through in a couple of months."
Paul Stanley has poured scorn on Simmons claims - but confirms they are discussing the idea. He is quoted on Blabbermouth.net saying, "These things are typical. Gene says something as if it was a fact, but there is no signed deal. The future has many possibilities. Will it happen next week? No! Am I opposed to the idea? Of course not."
Neither of the pair has revealed when they plan to leave the band, but earlier this year, Stanley admitted he was coming close to retiring: He said, "I really, firmly believe there will come a time when the band will continue without me."
