-Ratings Breakdown: It was a night of three-way leadership on this first Monday in June, with Fox the most-watched network and CBS and NBC tied for first among adults 18-49.
A repeat of Fox’s Bones won the 8 p.m. hour in total viewers (6.74 million), but it finished fourth among adults 18-49, with a 1.8 rating/6 share in the demo. That led into a repeat of House with 9.36 million viewers (#1) and a 3.0/ 9 among adults 18-49 (#1) at 9 p.m. As a reminder, Bones moves into the Wednesday 8 p.m. hour this fall, leading into ‘Til Death and new sitcom Do Not Disturb. House will anchor Tuesday, leading into new J.J. Abrams drama Fringe.
CBS had nothing unusual to report with its repeat combination of The Big Bang Theory (Viewers: #2, 5.87 million; A18-49: #2, 2.0/ 7), How I Met Your Mother (Viewers: #3, 6.05 million; A18-49: #2, 2.2/ 7), Two and a Half Men (Viewers: #1, 9.78 million; A18-49: #1, 3.1/ 9), Rules of Engagement (Viewers: #2, 8.18 million; A18-49: #2, 2.7/ 7) and CSI: Miami (Viewers: #1, 8.79 million; A18-49: #12, 2.6/ 7). If you have not caught Rules of Engagement recently, check it out. The comedy has found its voice this season, and it’s a humorous one. And you may want to spend this summer catching up with The Big Bang Theory, the funniest comedy to hit the airwaves in years. Suddenly, it’s cool to be a nerd.
In season-premiere news, the return of ABC’s The Mole after a four year absence (and without the “D” list celebrities) generated minimal interest, with a last-place 4.73 million viewers and a 2.0/ 6 among adults 18-49. Retention out of the last half-hour of lead-in The Bachelorette (Viewers: #3, 7.39 million; A18-49: #3t, 2.6/ 7 at 9:30 p.m.) was just 64 percent in total viewers and 77 percent in the demo. Overall, The Bachelorette averaged a lackluster 6/45 million viewers and a 2.1/ 6 among adults 18-49 from 8-10 p.m., with the half hour breakdown as follows:
The Bachelorette (ABC) 8:00 p.m. Viewers: 5.63 million (#3), A18-49: 1.7/ 6 (#3t) 8:30 p.m. Viewers: 6.07 million (#2), A18-49: 2.0/ 6 (#3) 9:00 p.m. Viewers: 6.71 million (##), A18-49: 2.3/ 6 (#4) 9:30 p.m. Viewers: 7.39 million (#3), A18-49: 2.6/ 7 (##t)
Thankfully, ABC has finally decided to rest the tired Bachelor franchise this fall.
Elsewhere, game 5 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals on NBC (Pittsburgh at Detroit) averaged an approximate 5.81 million viewers (#4) and a 2.5/ 7 among adults 18-49 (#1t) from 8-11 p.m. Keep in mind that the fast affiliate results for any live sporting event are always approximate. And the CW capped off the evening with repeats of Gossip Girl (Viewers: #5, 1.42 million; A18-49: #5, 0.6/ 2) and One Tree Hill (Viewers: #5, 1.23 million; A18-49: #5, 0.5/ 1).
Folks...I am out of pocket until late afternoon tomorrow and TravisYanan is not available. Is there anyone else that can post the fast affiliate results for Wednesday?

I am SHOCKED at these numbers. I watched it and right away was hooked. The tone of both the show and the host were in line with the successful first two seasons with AC as host, vice the less successful celebrity editions. I really hope it picks up steam, but I'm extremely disappointed...

and to lose to freaking HOCKEY?!
Those are actually good numbers for hockey. Over all, the game average may go down in the finals because it lasted almost the length of two full games until 12:30 And to add, one of the best games I have ever seen. Seconds (35 to be exact) away from hoisting the Cup, the attendants were polishing the cup, the champagne was being wheeled into the Wings locker-room, and boom , not so soon, then another 2 1/2 periods later we are onto Wednesday. What an incredible night of exciting happenstance.
Another decent ratings bump for the NHL playoffs. A good game helped matters as well
Very surprised at the disappointing Mole ratings. I was expecting at least 7 million for the premiere -- especially given ABC's constant hype of the show, both on TV and online, as well as its reputation as a reality show that non-reality fans can enjoy. I give ABC credit for bringing the show back and returning it to its civilian format, but the ratings are a headscratcher.

HOLY FRIG...what a dissapointment
The oversaturation of REALITY PROGRAMMING may have finally taken a serious toll on such shows. I just hope the quality shows of the genre like AMAZING RACE and SURVIVOR don't suffer upon their return.

Maybe my constant harping on your slamming of the NHL on NBC's ratings for the Stanley Cup Finals has worked! Well, at least sort of. Not on your losers list, although you still don't even mention the huge year to year growth. I am really looking forward to seeing how Wednesday nights game #6 does in the ratings. And if it goes to game #7 too bad it is scheduled on a Saturday. But I am guessing they will do more than 6 million on Wednesday if it is a close game.
What a terrible night overall. It seems like everything was down. Even mighty Two and Half Men went under 10 million for the first time in a long, long time. Only CSI: Miami seems to be up. I guess summer is setting in, and we are getting lower HUT levels across the board.
