Terrible comparison. 2.5 Men is scripted. The storyline changes each week. DOND is a game show. Its virtually the same thing every single episode. The syndicated version helped kill the primetime version. I expect this to be DOND's final season unless it does well again later in the year and for the syndicated version to move forward from here on out.

It's called overexposure -- putting DOND on three times a week and all over their schedule wherever they needed a plug. I've been warning (as have others) of the Who Wants to be a Millionaire effect, but others on here were saying that it was apples and oranges... seems to me I was pretty accurate.

Having the syndicated version on the air at the same time I believe has also had an effect. People can watcht this show anytime 5 days a week. How much excitement can there be for the primetime version.

I thought that the reasoning behind the KN revamp was interesting. They wanted to get the show away from the evil supervillian confrontations and back to a show about 'real people' combating more local problams. It is almost like the KN revamp is acknowledging a likely reason that Heroes is faultering.

The revamping of Knight Rider will really help the ratings and putting it behind football will help it even more.

ABC failed to learn a fairly obvious lesson last year on Turkey-eve. Expect record low numbers for all three series.

Unless things have changed, I believe FOX will be airing a new episode of Bones, CBS will be airing their regular lineup with all new episodes and NBC will be aring new episodes of Knight Rider, Rosie Special and Deal or No Deal Thanksgiving eve as well.

And everything I've heard seems to indicate the syndicated version is executed a lot better. (And its ratings have been rising as well.)

ABC never learns. The Polar Express and a Primetime news special would be a much better option. Move the Dancing finale up an hour on Tuesday and air that special Thanksgiving episode of DSM (which sounds like a clips special if you ask me) after it to perhaps help give it more exposure. If I were ABC, I'd also hold off Pushing Daisies for sweeps and air the Supermanny special on the previous Wed. at 8. Then Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving can air on Thanksgiving night alone along with the Greys repeat and the scheduled special.

Fox can probably get away by airing Bones. I'm worried about CBS's comedies but if I had to guess, since they skew older, they'll be okay. NBC should not be airing Knight Rider. Dateline would be a better option into that thing they'll air at 9.

Apparently they're trying to make it more about helping people than terrorist of the week. That's one description I got, but honestly, I wasn't paying all that much attention when reading it because I find the program to be an utter waste of time.

Exactly- the syndicated version is basically all game, no filler. Plus a wheel determines which of 22 players (they hold the cases instead of models) gets to play the game, so you never know who you're you're gonna get on any particular day- the NBC version you know they tend to always have an over-the-top player with a sob story...

If NBC got rid of all that crap in the primetime version, I'm sure I would watch again, as well as many others.

Cool! This is a pretty good show.
I know it says it averages 900,000 plus, but does anyone have the numbers from the most recent episodes?
I'm also wondering, why doesnt Lifetime pick up new episodes of Reba?

Because Reba was canned in 2007. Johanna Garcia has moved on to her own show. Thats why.

Well her show isnt doing all that well. If the CW cancelled it, I bet she would go back to Reba. However, I don't think it will ever happen.

'Knight Rider' goes back to its roots
Retooling finds three regulars without renewed options
By Nellie Andreeva

Nov 10, 2008, 12:00 AM ET

KITT is getting a tune-up.

NBC's freshman drama "Knight Rider" is undergoing a major retooling, bringing it closer to the original 1980s series. Among the changes, the options of three regulars on the show -- Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Yancey Arias and Bruce Davison -- were not picked up beyond the initial 13-episode order.

"It's a reboot," "Knight" executive producer/showrunner Gary Scott Thompson said. "We're moving away from the terrorist-of-the-week formula and closer to the original, making it a show about a man and his car going out and helping more regular people, everymen."

Such a change would make "Knight" a better fit into NBC's newly rebranded crime drama Wednesday lineup alongside "Life" and "Law & Order."

The revamped "Knight" will kick off with the two-part Episodes 10-11. NBC is planning a major push, including possibly airing Episode 10 on Sunday after an NFL football game in January, with the conclusion airing the following Wednesday.

Such a move would bring "Knight" back to Sunday night, where the two-hour movie/backdoor pilot drew big ratings in February.

The series it spawned has been struggling in the Wednesday 8 p.m. slot, dropping last week to a season-low 5.1 million viewers and a 1.6 rating/4 share in adults 18-49.

The retooling had been put in motion long before the full-season order for "Knight" three weeks ago. The UMS/Dutch Oven series is now filming Episode 15.

There are no immediate plans to add new regulars to the show, which will focus on the five remaining characters: Mike (Justin Bruening), Sarah (Deanna Russo), Billy (Paul Campbell), Zoe (Smith Cho) and KITT. The producers also are looking to do stunt guest castings.

Thompson, who called Poitier, Arias and Davison "three of the most professional actors I've ever worked with," stressed that the decision to let the cast members go was a difficult one tied to the show's change in direction and had nothing to do with the actors.
