Oprah has been a 9am tradition here ever since it was a local show called AM Chicago. The show is live here.

More than 52 million people watched President Obama’s first address to a joint session of Congress in prime time on Tuesday, according to Nielsen Media Research.
The TV audience, pegged at 52.4 million by Nielsen, does not include out-of-home or online viewers. Nielsen said the address, which was broadcast roughly between 9 and 10:30 p.m., averaged a 49 share across 10 networks, which means that almost half of the people watching TV at the time were watching Mr. Obama’s speech.
The sizable audience for Tuesday’s address is the latest in a series of Nielsen indications that the nation is paying close attention to the new president. Mr. Obama’s first prime-time news conference on Feb. 9 drew an average of 49.5 million viewers on eight networks.
George W. Bush’s first address before Congress, in Feb. 2001, reached an average audience of 39.8 million viewers.
Online, a C-SPAN video of Mr. Obama’s address has been viewed more than 150,000 times on YouTube. The Republican response, delivered by Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, has been viewed more than 75,000 times.
And how many of the people watching Jindal's speech are just marvelling at how much he sounds like the dopey page guy on 30 Rock?

NBC needs to take a note from the fat people watching The Biggest Loser and give The Office a brand new timeslot away from CSI: and Grey's to the post-Biggest Loser slot at 9:30pm. NBC should turn Thursdays away from the single-cams and go back the traditional multi-cams Must See TV Thursday block. NBC can alternate brand new episodes of 30 Rock with The Office in that slot throughout the season since neither show repeats well anyways.
A representative from Tribune Stations said he was not happy about the next 2 years in the syndication market b/c the networks have not produced enough watchable sitcoms over the last 3 years and its going to hurt their market. They will probably be looking at off-net/cable sitcoms like TBS' Bill Engvall and Lifetime's Rita Rocks down the line to fill that void like Tyler Perry's House of Payne has successfully. Tyler Perry had a huge week last week getting a series high in syndication for FOX Television Stations with 4.2 million viewers. The Big Bang Theory will be the next big syndication acquisition in 2011 as it would look to get 6-8 million viewers in its first few years. Also How I Met Your Mother, Christine, Rules, and Gary will try to fill that void. Surviving Suburbia is the one the syndication officials are really hoping gets off the ground and becomes a hit for ABC as it is available for syndication in 2013.
NBC should think about firing everybody by season's end and promote NBC Universal's programmer Bonnie Hammer to being the new chief of NBC. She has completely made a huge turn around with the USA Network and making that the #1 cable network since 2006 along with making Sci-Fi Channel more mainstream.
The CW is a network that should shut down but they've got a gem called Privileged. I've watched all of its new episodes for the month of February on DVR and its an amazing show. Definitely not the type of show that is going to be watched by the masses but a special show. Last night's episode was probably the final episode of the series and that's sad b/c its a nice little gem for The Can't Watch Network. Lucy Hale is an upcoming star who needs to be on a show that hits and she really shines on this show with her mischievous and innocent character. I knew Hale was something special when she was on Bionic Woman last season. Unfortunately for a show like Privileged its a show that continues to reflects the true reputation of The CW. That's one of the reasons why it took me six months to finally watch it. Well it was a nice little show and now b/c of Ostroff's mistakes it will not be.
NCIS is a beast in overall viewing yes and still not too shabby in the demos either. So how long can NCIS last? As long as JAG? NBC really should develop a female skewing comedy and put it after The Biggest Loser wither as an one hour installment or 1 1/2 hours. If Bonnie Hammer took over NBC, I think that would be a major plus. She did wonders with USA and Sci-fi like you stated. She knew that to make USA strong , she would have to get back its flagship show with was WWE Raw (with she did). If she took over NBC, I would except a throw back to the 90's with multi cam comedies galore. (Hey, oh the plus side NBC is developing a multi cam comedy right?)
I think why most people wish the WB was back instead of the CW is that they conduct themselves like a cable network and focus on a small demo which is probably not working. Hell, USA could put NCIS/House in primetime with no new episodes and probably still beat the CW in viewers (I know viewers don't exactly mean as much as the demo but you get my point).
BlueLick I find your cloumns to be pretty fun to read.
NCIS will be interesting in 3-5 years from now to see if its still going to be this strong. That's why its a good idea for CBS to make that spin-off now so that they've got a backup option to continue on the legacy of the JAG franchise into the next decade.
Bonnie will definitely turn NBC around and be serious about getting that network back to #1 or #2 network status. She made the right decision to pick up Raw which is getting close to 7 million viewers on Mondays right now. All of her recent original series since re-branding the network in '05 have been a hit. I think Bonnie will definitely bring the multi-cams back.
NBC has a few traditional sitcoms in the work and I think they plan on green lighting one of them for next season. I like your idea of placing a female oriented sitcom behind BL. NBC just needs to take advantage of BL while its hot right now.
You're right about The CW, a lot of people really want The WB to comeback and I think you're going to see it back within the next few years as The WB really wants to come out of the merger with The CW. If USA was a cabler they would destroy The CW and their repeats of NCIS and House already thrash The CW on a nightly basis.
Thank you TV-Fanatic for reading as I try to be as in-depth and honest as possible for you guys reading it. Make sure you read the one I have for Wednesday's ratings.
April 2 is going to be a sad day as were going to lose a TV legend in ER for good. ER was the first show to set the groundwork for those quality cable TV 14/MA dramas you see now.

I'm really amazed at how well the soaps are doing especially since between 9am-3pm are very low hut level hours of the day since people are at work. AMC's national ratings don't reflect how well they are doing in some of these markets like Charlotte. Carolina must really like their soaps b/c their doing well on CBS too.

I forgot Oprah airs at 9am in Chicago b/c a few of my friends in Chicago watch Oprah at 9am and they she airs as repeats at 11pm also there. The Chicago market must attribute to most of Oprah's big ratings shares. The View is definitely doing a great job of feeding off of that as a lead-in.
Oprah is very popular among women of all ages as she is the queen of all the female demos.
Kate has really become a character without any purpose other than to serve as one corner of an increasingly pointless romantic triangle.
By killing her off, they could prove to the audience that anybody can die--and they could still have her appear in key scenes, like all the other dead characters.
