Furthermore, I think Canterbury's Law is more of a 9 pm show, and will do well in attracting the Friday 9 pm Close to Home / Women's Murder Club audience. I also think it will retain its demo (which doesn't look so bad on Fridays), and maybe grow that a bit too.

Let a show die (in 4th place) than to give it a small shot somewhere else on the schedule?

If CL can pull 6 million on Fridays, it will look a lot better than 6 million on Mondays. Moving CL to Fridays is a good thing for the network the series and the viewers of the show.

Eh. I loved the episode (very straight forward, for once... it really did give the how, why, and when of Michael being on the freighter), but the cliffhanger would've been better for me if (as usual) the promo department hadn't told us that someone was going to die. And as soon as they killed ____ you knew that wouldn't be it, because no one cares a rat's arse about ____. I really hope that ________ is not dead. Just like with Libby, I don't think Lost finished telling ________'s story. And how great to see Libby (for two brief ghostly moments) tonight! The show actually got me thinking that it isn't the boat people who killed ____ and ________, at least for a split second, because they didn't show the shooters (which would have been an added oomph to the cliffhanger). But that would explain where Lapidus disappeared to with the helicopter, and why we haven't seen the guys who were shooting clay pigeons on the boat in Michael's flashback since.

ABC is smart with their promos for Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy already showing.

I especially like the "start fresh, ABC, start here" thing going on.

The only thing is, they could be a bit more over dramatic. But I assume ABC will change the promos come a week before the returns.

I liked ____. Everyone I like on Lost gets it in the end it seems. Or do they?

Lost fans are so easy to please. That was a cliffhanger?

I disliked the execution of the scene (which gets a semi-pass because the script was the last strike script, so did not go through the revisions it normally would have). And, as above, I think it would've been much more cliffhanger-y if they'd shown the shooter (since I think every single viewer knows who it is... no need to keep us in the dark). At the same time, they have been building to that moment, the moment that the freighter people start attacking the Island, since the end of last season with Ben trying to stop Jack from contacting the boat. It's a big, ominous event.

Which, again, is why I think it would've been better to show us the shooter so we had confirmation. There's no rabbit to be pulled out of a hat, so why not just show it?

Robert is a closeted Lost fan. He screams for joy every Thursday at 9 and then cries in shame for enjoying it afterwards. Wink

They are nice promos. Great usage of the online viewings too, which I'm sure will skyrocket before new eps return.

Honestly, if the old folks find CL on Fridays and if New Amsterdam continues its decline on Monday (there is a chance this will happen- Fridays are extremely easy right now) then this may have been a blessing in disguise move. Similar to how I believe According to Jim and Just for Laughs would work better on Fridays.

This is not a case of greed and no respect. If it were, they would have yanked CL from the schedule! If as you say, the show wasn't going to be back next year anyways, FOX is smart to move it somewhere else where it might surprise everyone and do better as it's obviously not working on Monday nights.

Yeah - and all the family members too and none of that information would ever leak to the general public about this highly illegal activity. Roll Eyes .

They are not actors, but they are acting. Rule 1 of "reality TV".

Lost was pretty good last night, but the ending felt rushed.

I personally know people who were on Reality TV and there was no coaching as to how to act.

Agreed! Then, too, if the networks had any respect for the viewers, they wouldn't constantly put up graphics promoing the next show. TNT is absolutely the worst at this. I remember watching the next-to-last ep. of "The Closer" last Summer when it was rerun just before the final ep. And they had a graphic up DURING THE ENTIRE SHOW reminding one and all that the season finale would be shown next.

Oh, and there was the night I was watching "Deal" last December (I'm embarrassed to admit it), and yep, they had a graphic up DURING THE ENTIRE SHOW plugging that "Clash of the Choirs" thing that was to be shown the following week.

That's insulting our intelligence. At least in the case of "The Closer" anyway.

Mad
