Survivor is on the downside of its run and there's nothing CBS can do to prevent it. Airing it once a year isn't going to slow the erosion - people know what Survivor is all about at this point and those who watch, watch and those who don't, don't.
In order to run Survivor just once a year, CBS needs something to replace it with. Simply put, it has nothing. It hasn't launched a hit one-hour show since Criminal Minds and CSI: NY. But if they manage to get anything with promise, I can see CBS bumping Survivor off the night. CBS's Thursday lineup desperately needs an overall (the series have been declining for three seasons now) as the lineup has been in tact since 2001 save Shark for a season.
Don't worry x. Til Death and Back to You both are airing on Wed. at 8 later on this spring. The Friday airings are just repeats. I for one called this move earlier this week. Now here's to New Amsterdam showing some gains.

It would be much better served on Wed nights prior to Idol along with Back To You.

I just cannot understand why the networks are so greedy and have no respect for the viewers. As far as i know FOX is not going bankrupt so what would cost them to let CL run in its original timeslot for the rest of the left episodes. I agree it shouldn't be renwed but at least they should have some respect for their viewers. And this goes for every network.

At least Fox is still airing the episodes. ABC's favorite thing to do is air all but one ep and then cancel it, never to be seen again, even on the network's website. CBS loves to cancel stuff after one or two airings and then dump episodes off onto the site. Regardless, at least fans are seeing the eps.

House reruns would be a stronger lead-in to New Amsterdam for the one or two weeks it will have left, and House is moving to Mondays anyway, so it's probably a good idea for the network to shift the repeats to the day, if not the time, that originals will be airing on in a month or so.

It's hurting another show (New Amsterdam) where it is. As it is now, CL still gets to air but Fox gets to find out whether NA's low ratings are because of the show or the lead-in.
If more people will watch a House rerun than a Canterberry's Law first run, then isn't FOX being respectful to more viewers by airing House reruns?
I understand when people talk about 'respect' in terms of airing a series finale for a show that has been on for years, but Canterberry's Law is just a blip in time. How has it 'earned respect'?
MMMMMM, it seems that every night of the week Law and Order is on.
I must say Law & Order is showing great strength this season! I wish ABC would replace Men in Trees with The Bachelor. The poor show never had a chance. I have no idea what ABC was thinking. WHY?
ABC is so weak in the 10 p.m. slot. Look back at Boston Legal's numbers for the last couple airings. Everyone thought the numbers were the nail in the coffin. Turns out, considering it's lead-in and it's growth from said lead-in, and it's comparative strength to other ABC shows, Boston Legal is in damn good shape!

Looks like Law & Order will hang around long enough to beat Gunsmoke.
I'm going to miss Men in Trees when ABC cans it. Show has taken a creative downturn this season but I still kinda enjoy it.

Not in ABC's eyes. They don't get any money in syndication so they don't care. Same situation with Men in Trees, which if it had been promoted correctly and moved to Fridays at 8 last summer, it might have kept 75 to 80% of the audience. ABC has really done some dumb things this year. Its just mind boggling.

Agree about Law and Order. I also think MiT has had a downfall from what I've seen but it still tops the likes of Big Shots, Cashmere Mafia, and even Greys Anatomy at times.
so the fact tht viewers don't want to watch this on Monday nights is not a factor?
Let a show die (in 4th place) than to give it a small shot somewhere else on the schedule?
If CL can pull 6 million on Fridays, it will look a lot better than 6 million on Mondays. Moving CL to Fridays is a good thing for the network the series and the viewers of the show.
