Realistically, the time of the supermodel was gone years before ANTM ever started. There are still plenty of models making 'big money' on runways and fashion magazines, but the days when they would get the magazine covers, makeup contracts, and such are long gone. Actresses serve that market now. That is why it is silly when people proclaim that none of the ANTM have gone on to become known supermodels...as if there are many/any 'known supermodels' these days.

I wouldn't consider BB9 a loser actually..It did very well (I think it was the 2nd highest rated episode of the season viewer-wise excluding the premiere), and all three of the big 4 non-Idol shows were extremely close in total viewers. Having Survivor as a lead-in helped it obviously..

Crowned has not been renewed. Casting calls do not mean renewal.

Back to back week's of players leaving without being voted out and scheduling the show out of its timeslot for the NCAAs took its toll.

Yes tehy do a practise run with the producers running the race. They go everywhere, and do all the tasks to make sure that what works on paper works in real life. That adds 4 weeks to the production of the show.

And if they do have problems they have to change it after that point.

And I doubt it will be. They might just design a different reality show to replace it, but I doubt Crowned will be back, it performed miserable.

The contestants are not alone. There is a pair of guys with each race pair and there are armed security forces following along in certain higher risk places (like Africa).

Isn't the #1 show on the CW now Friday Night Smackdown?

Its now the show that can draw over 4 million viewers on the ugly green Net.

I LOVE Survivor, but for the sake of the show's long-term prospects, isn't it time CBS cut it to once a year? Two seasons per year is taking its toll at this point.

That's a relief, I guess. Until we find out what new show will replace it.

Not to mentioned the camera people. No, I know they're not alone, but still, I remember an episode of The Mole when a contestant was almost begging to stop after getting lost in the woods somewhere in Italy, and the camera people only obliged after a wild animal of somekind (possibly coyote, wolf, or wildcat) almost attacked her.

Well kind of. They do have security personal but it isn't like the sound and camera guy who actually travels with them. But they are kept in contact with them (through the camera and sound guy), so that when trouble happens they can hopefully get their quickly enough.

Yep...unless CBS scores really big with the NCAAs this year. Realistically, 60 Minutes is the only show with a shot to dethrone 2&1/2Men.
