Whatever. Last year they advertised GA by saying it was the #1 show with "32 million fans"... when in fact they pushed together their first-run and then Friday repeat ratings to make that promo.
ABC is typically full of crap. It's starting to show a really steady habit of sinking its humongous hits within a few years (Desperate Housewives, Lost, Grey's Anatomy) and doesn't seem to have much that's all that new to offer.
CBS has sprung a major leak at 8 p.m., with the time period-premiere of musical drama Viva Laughlin at a mere (and fourth-place) 4.7/ 7. Comparably, that was 38 percent below year-ago occupant The Amazing Race 10 (7.6/11 on Oct. 22, 2006), with retention out of lead-in 60 Minutes (8.8/15 at 7 p.m.) of just 53 percent.
So much for that "Better Fit" theory for VL following 60 Minutes.
Mark expects the show to be pulled AFTER one more airing. I predict it will be axed this week.
I have a feeling that this is the week we start to hear about a lot of scheduling changes at CBS, with November sweeps around the corner.
I can not imagine they will have Kid Nation, Cane and Viva Laughling airing during the sweeps. I think there is a great chance we will hear about Jericho and Power of 10 returning for November sweeps.
There really does not seem to be a place to move Kid Nation. They could move it to Saturdays, but Saturday encores they are doing now outrate Kid Nation originals on Wednesdays, so they would be guaranteed to do worse on Saturdays then they are doing. I wonder if they will just cancel the show and run the remaining episodes online.
Power of 10 would seem to be a good fit on Wednesdays at 8 with DOND moving out of the slot for now. Or maybe they will try that on Sundays at 8.
Not sure about Jericho. Not sure if it would fit on Tuesdays at 10. The other option would be to move The Unit to 10PM Tuesdays and put Jericho on at 9.

Marc, did CW really show a repeat of Alien Nation on Sunday? That would strike me as pretty desperate, considering it was a shortlived 1989 FOX series about actual aliens from outer space settling in L.A. as an immigrant community. I have a sneaking suspicion you didn't mean Alien Nation.
Kid Nation had an uptick last week... I don't think CBS is going to pull it if the numbers continue in the right direction. And let's not forget the coveted 2 - 11 year old demo.

I dubt Kid Nation will be axed. It had a nice up tick last week and does have a strong Under 18 rating, which brought in more advertisers since the premiere.
Cane, is a toss up. It numbers, although not good, have not been horrible either.... yet. But its teend downward may spell doom. It will just dempend on what other Demos Cane pulls in and how patient the CBS Brass will have. Would not be suprised either way for this show.
VL is GONE. I, perhaps being a lone voice, expect VL it be aced THIS week. It broght down the shows that followed it this week. Its onething to have a show do bad, it another to have a show that drags down the rest of the night.
Don't expect Jericho to be seen in November. This will be kept back for 2008. When & Where may depend on the writers strike.
Maybe they should try it. It would probably be a bigger draw!

It also would be odd that they would air an hour long series in a 30 minutes timeslot. Are they splitting the episodes so that they can make more of them? I for one, can't get enough of Alien Nation and plan to tune in to part 2 next week! Interesting strategy by the CW.

I don't usually post on these things, thought I often do read them. But when it comes to "Friday Night Lights," I have a couple of things to say.
First of all, does it make anyone else as sick as it does me that "Viva Laughlin," though it will most likely air only one more time before being yanked, has already been seen by more people than the aforementioned "FNL?" What a sad commentary on the viewing choices of this country.
And secondly, this is a quote from today's Marc Berman article: "Third in the hour was NBC’s relocated Friday Night Lights at a depressed 5.48 million viewers and a 1.9/ 6 in the demo. As I have said over and over again, if only they would stop the constant camera movement more viewers might actually tune in."
--Really! It's the camera shaking? That's why no one watches? Please, tell me that's not the case. Reassure me that you, Marc, and the rest of the American public doesn't have that severe a case of motion sickness that a small level of camera movement (that has beautifully kept in line with the movie from which this show is based) keeps you from watching the most talented cast on television act out the best writing network TV has to offer. Please. Tell me it's more than that. Tell me it's at least that you hate football, or that you think it's too teen-oriented. (Both of which wouldn't amount to a decent argument as far as I'm concerned, but at least it'd be better than the CAMERA MOVING!).
Wow. This show will most likely be cancelled this season, maybe even before it's done airing all of it's ordered episodes. And it's going to be a sad day when TV loses one of it's best shows in the last decade because people were getting headaches watching the camera move.
