Redefined summer rules for determining winners and losers.... Anything above 8 mil and 2.0 in the demo, good to go. Anything below 4.5 mil and 1.5 in the demo, dump it. Just a thought. Summer sucks. Its not the same game right now.

Yea, summer sucks, but there are a few Gems out here. Wipeout seems to be a fun show, perfect for summer

Critics had been fairly supportive of the first several procedurals but stopped at CSI NY and perhaps some line was drawn at that point.
They should have no trouble coming up with content for a spinoff. It'll be interesting to see exactly what aspect of the show the producers "duplicate." If I had a say, I would maintain the intense and at times sinister tone but would take a different approach to casting. This group is good but a bit dry at times and restrained, which is authentic but may be cold to some. Perhaps different content will enable different types of characters as well.
I might be tempted to watch a Criminal Minds spinoff if they found a way to bring back Mr. Mandy Patinkin's character, and contractually allowed him to direct at least one musical episode.

And you seem to like to bash the show at any given opportunity. I find it hilarious but to each his own.

What you term 'intensity and intrigue', I have seen other people refer to as 'slasher porn'.

That's what I've seen. Its nothing special. Just gore and if that's what you like, more power to ya. I'll stick with Private Practice and the ABC Wed. lineup. I've never really thought Criminal Minds was that strong of a show. It's lost a good 3 million in the past season or so and it's very unlikely it will gain those folks back. Part of me wants to believe it has something to do with CSI:NY dropping but I think they're likely separate issues with CM losing any semblance of a lead in this year and CSI:NY simply not performing. The lead in will likely improve at least demo-wise this fall but it probably won't help things much if any.

No, no connections. I just really like the show, and just expressing my opinions about it. Is anything i say about it incorrect?

I can;t imagine anyone ever hiring Mandy Patinkin for a regularly scheduled series again. quote: Originally posted by dumont: quote: Originally posted by Bruce: I think CRIMINAL MINDS got labeled "CBS crime procedural # 7" by critics and perhaps some viewers when in fact the show is a fairly substantial departure from the Bruckheimer group particularly in the level of intensity and intrigue. Happy to prompt a debate. And as someone who was at best lukewarm to the show at first, I understand the dislike some have for it. But I'm happy that this joined a short list of my must see broadcast dramas each week that includes LOST, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, MEDIUM, and L&O SVU. Any further thoughts?
