The CW wins yet another Friday with soon-to-be-MyNetworkTV's WWE Smackdown...winning the crown, but in borrowed shoes.

And ABC hits an all-time record low for new programming (maybe even for encore programming) in viewers and A18-49. A burnoff of the final seven Cavemen episodes would do much better for the Alphabet than the abysmal duds Dance Machine / Duel.

ABC has no respect with 20/20.

FOX and NBC Tied in A18-49 After 2 Days of 2008 July Sweep; ABC & CW Tied for 4th

After just 2 nights of the July Sweep (and recognizing that this year had Fourth of July included whereas last year didn't), FOX and NBC are tied for first place in A18-49 with a rather small 1.3 A18-49 average.

In what has to be a first, ABC has fallen into a fourth place tie with The CW as both networks are averaging 0.8 in A18-49 after two nights (The CW has never before tracked in fourth place during a Sweep period).

After 2 nights, CBS has moved into its customary lead in viewership, with NBC and FOX close behind.

This years numbers are based on FAST national numbers, whereas last years numbers are based upon final Nielsen numbers. Also, this year's Sweep includes the low-HUT Fourth of July whereas last year's Sweep started on July 5th.

Wow, CW won the demo. Eeker

ABC, are you blind? Do you see the crap your putting on tv? Duel and Dance Machine need to be cancelled now! Repeats of Grey's and Desperate could pull better numbers. Plus you could air Disney Channel Movies and get better numbers.

Oh relax. They're simply burning off the episodes. I bet Greys and Housewives repeats would've pulled around a 0.8 in the demo. That would've been such an improvement. TV almost matters on the fourth of July. ABC will bump up in the coming days in the demo. Third should come easily for them. Its not like CBS or the other nets for that matter have built up a big lead.

CW won the demo? I guess you have to be 35 or older to care about fireworks. Red Face

Oh, and look at the viewer number for NBC at 9:30. Red Face

Well its Friday. The decent duo of Wife Swap and Supernanny should provide stable lead ins this fall.

Still lovin' Duel, and I'm convinced ABC must just be showing me a "good" version that nobody else sees when they watch that show. I just don't understand how this show pulls a third of what Deal or No Deal gets on its worst day. Oh well.

It's very simple...on the 4th of july, TV is an afterthought unless the weather is simply atrocious. It was raining in my area, but it didn't "dampen" the fireworx a bit. Every net's viewership was naturally down.

But even with that, I don't think Dance Machine/Duel would exactly threaten AI's totals if it were airing now.

I think its interesting that Dance Machine had the exact same ratings past the half way mark. I can't remember the last time that has happened.

The fireworks shows on NBC and CBS both brought in subpar ratings.

I don't get why it bothers people so much when ABC airs Dance Machine and Duel. Yes, they're complete and utter failures. But, ABC invested money in them and it serves them no purpose in NOT airing them at all...and putting repeats of shows that don't repeat well, because they might get slighty higher figures diminishes the overall value of the show.

So, let ABC air their crappy programming (although I TiVo Duel) and watch something else.

It's pretty common for the demo, but as for viewers, I don't know.
